Agree with this. There is this certain mystique about the guy, but in reality he is just an above average CB. He's good, but not great, and certainly not some kind of superhuman. If you watch him in action most of his coverage involves pushing, grabbing, etc. and well after the 5 yard mark. He is overrated....again good, but not great. He gets away with a lot of stuff for whatever reason. Kind of like Peyton will all of his pre-snap movements and gestures. That junk should really be penalized.

I agree. It's the same thing with Troy Polamalu. The media just blows everything out of proportion. They take a good player and make them seem larger than life, like they are unbeatable.

Revis is a really good player but Smith would have lit his ass up if not for all the illegal contact that Revis got away with.

Revis is not that fast... He is a master at angles. He takes the correct angle and limits the WR's space.

I agree he is a master of angles, but that's a testament to his athleticism. Staying step for step with a receiver on a streak has nothing to do with angles if the balls thrown properly.... If your playing press man when a receiver is going deep, you HAVE to be fast.

He recorded a 4.38 at his pro day a few years ago as well... just sayin.
