Looks like someone took the Getty and AP images and then used a filter in Photoshop to add the effect...not sure what filter exactly, but still nice work (even if the original photos were not theirs to begin with!)

Very nice stuff!! It does look like a photoshop effect from the filter gallery or they painted over the original pictures. Either way they are bad ass looking!!!

I do wish whoever made these did one when JJ KO Ward.

That might be one of the Topaz Labs effect.. That's the only thing I can think of...

Either way awesome pictures.

My first thought also.
I use Topaz when doing HDR photos.
