Re: OT: Holt shit! Did you feel that earthquake?

Can you imagine if this had happened on the day those nutjobs had been predicting the Rapture a couple months back? MADNESS.

Re: OT: Holt shit! Did you feel that earthquake?

My co-worker called her dad in Hanover, PA and a neighbor in Spring Grove, just across the MD-PA border and neither of them felt it.

My wife was in a warehouse style building in Pasadena and she said the whole thing was swaying.

I am in a 3 story solid stone building with thick walls near Reisterstown. The building definitely shook some but nothing visibly moved. Mostly the wood and slate roof rattled very loudly as it rapped hard against the top of the building.

I'm working on TV Hill today, and we saw a news van come flying out of the entrance gates about 3 minutes after the shake. Although I have no idea where they think they needed to be.

Sun is already mentioning the possibility of aftershocks.

OT: earthquake discussion - no jokes, please!

For those who want to joke about this scary event, I set up a pinned thread for earthquake jokes here:

    http://www.ravens24x7.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72586

Sorry to have removed the jokes from here, but mixing jokes with near-death tales doesn't fit.
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

I came upstairs and all the books on my book shelf were on the floor after being knocked off. My
nephew just came over and said his house actually moved from side to side. No damage.

TV 11 just said Congressman Mitchell's house on Lanvale street was damaged and showed pics
of bricks falling into the street. It's a historic site.

Ok, now they are showing some major damage to bldgs in Bmore.

As a senior citizen, I know that in the worst of times (as Mr. Dickens wrote) humor is a relief to many. Please do not dismiss it as making fun of those who've suffered, just look at it as a normal human response to a dangerous situation. I assure you that nobody, in reality, finds it amusing... Bc

Verizon shut down their cell service because everyone got on it at once and they couldn't
    handle the traffic.

Surprising major traffic on I-70w as commuters evacuate.
