WJZ said their tv monitors were shaking and antennas and people ran out of the
bldg.
Union station in DC shook and guy said it was very shaky.
Baltimore police said no disruptions to police.

At first we thought a large truck was going by. Then it picked up and felt like 3rd Army tank brigade was in the parking lot. That's as strong an earthquake as I need to experience.

The earthquake’s epicenter was between Charlottesville and Richmond, Va., the USGS reported. It was a very shallow quake, 3.7 miles deep, which would explain why it was so widely felt.

Tall bookshelves around me definitely wobbled. It was significant enough I was genuinely scared there for a couple of seconds and hightailed it to a doorway.
"A lot" is a two word expression denoting a great deal or greatly, as in "I like sunshine a lot." "Alot" is a lovable imaginary grammar monster. You can love a lot; you can love an alot; you can love alots a lot; but they are not the same thing.
