We may never find another player who has the same cut on his nose that opens up before every half again....

There were a lot of great Heap moments.

Last year vs. Tampa. 65 yard TD.

    Birk does it too.

I hope when Heap returns on Oct 30th the fans will still yell HEAP when he catches a pass. He deserves it.

    Re: Heap to Cards

I'm going to make a minor complaint about Ozzie right now...

The reports are that Heap stuck to his word and brought the Cards' offer to us to see if we'd match. Ozzie was unable to, because we didn't have the cap space. So Heap accepted it.

If the answer had been "that's more than we want to spend", i could accept that. But the indication is we would've matched with more cap space...

THIS IS WHY WE SHOULD'VE BEEN TALKING TO NGATA'S AGENT LAST WEEKEND.

If we'd done Ngata's deal, we could've matched Heap's deal. But instead, they are only now resuming talks.

    FRUSTRATING

There is a large drop-off in talent, esp blocking, between Heap and the two sophs behind him.
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Ever consider the possibility that they really didn't want Heap back?

Reports aren't always right. Clearly it wasn't that critical for us to get him back. We don't have to be under the cap till Aug 4. If we really wanted him back, we'd have matched the offer and then figured out what to do to get under the cap before then. Sorry, I don't buy the "we'd have brought him back if we had the cap space" line at all.

One other thing. I like that people are concerned about Dickson and Pitta and whether or not they can block, and that we've lost a huge asset with Heap and his blocking abilities. While it's true that Heap could block, I think a lot of people forget that coming out of college, Heap couldn't block for sh*t. He learned it pretty well, I think the young guys can too.

And I think people are forgetting that Heap has been hurt A LOT. A lot more than you want out of our top TE spot.

I think if they wanted Heap back as a Raven, he'd be back as a Raven.
