    Who would you rather retain?

    Ozzie gets to resign one of the players he just cut, Heap or Mason. Who do you keep?

    I think it should be a landslide for Heap, but that's why I'm asking. Not 100% Sure.

    So, who would you retain?

    Last year Mason had roughly 800 yds and 7 TDs while Heap had 600 yds and 5 TDs. I'd still rather see Heap back. Mason, albeit one tough SOB, is more replaceable IMO.

    This was my line of thinking as well.

    I can go into the season more comfortable with Boldin/Reed/Smith/Doss than Dickson/Pitta/Drew. It's not close either

    What TE do we bring in, that would be hands down better than Heap?! There isn't a free one out there. Mason, can be replaced but that means that Joe and Anquan have to get synched NOW. We need our young WRs to step up, regardless.

    Mason is the bigger leader
    Heap is the best bridge to the next man up

    As it stands, Torrey Smith/Tandon Doss are starting opposite Anquan Boldin, and Ed Dickson is starting at TE. I hope Dickson can make the jump, but he has a ways to go. And with our OL situation, we really need a good blocker at TE. Heap is best blocker of the bunch right now.

    Boldin can do everything mason can do better. We don't need 2 vet possesion receivers. Heap is coming off a great year. He still has a couple more left and could def be used to mentor dickson and pitta.

    We could also potentially bring in a blocking TE like Jeff King, Joey Haynos, or Daniel Fells.

    #3 is the one that stands most out for me, with #2 close behind.

    Unless the OL has had some sort of magical transformation into a blocking MACHINE during the lockout, we need Heap in the trenches!
