Flynn Has Control Of The OL. (Other News)

....so says Billick. Well, the OL did well Friday. Let's see what happens tomorrow.

"Center Mike Flynn is entering his ninth season after entering the league as an undrafted free agent from Maine. “It’s a great story and it’s typical of a center,” Billick said. “You can last a long time if you know what you’re doing and that’s a high premium for a center. Mike has control of that offensive line. That’s a big asset for us.”

Also in the article, Sam Koch shanked five punts. (Anyone have Kyle Richardson's number?)

    Moore won't play tomorrow.

    Oh crap! :(

Looks like another year with the turnstile.

I hope Koch turns it around...I want to see him handle KOs as well.

When he says control, I think he means it more from a leadership point. Ogden is not in the line up right now (I don't think).
After all, the center is in charge of all the blocking assignments. Flynn made a few good blocks the other night, maybe he has something good left in him.

Something tells me that either Flynn has several pictures of Billick and Fassel engaging in unspeakable acts of man-love, or Billick is simply overly loyal to his veterans. Still, I'd be surprised to see Flynn starting past week five.

I was really impressed with the play of Jason Brown at center and the play of Chris Chester at guard. Those guys were holding down the interior. Sacks were coming from the side where LT Rob Drogre was playing.

I think we have the beginnings of a great future OL with Chester and Brown. I don't see Tony Pashos commanding a lot of attention unless he has a slamming season in 2006.

We will need to sign/draft a LT and LG. Who should be available via FA?

Forgot about Adam Terry. He played well, but I am looking for Terry to be a little more consistent.

This isn't totally unexpected. Billick has never wavered in his support of Flynn, and he takes the starters' reps when healthy.

Elling put two deep into the end zone and was otherwise close to the goal line last week, if he keeps that up he will be kicking off. We need a better punter than these two. Sunday they were punting to each other and half of the punts from both were line drives without great distance.

Yes..that is good but he didn't do well last season. If he stays consistant then fine. But again its the point of using an extra roster sport for a KO-only specialist. I want to see Koch try some KOs in preseason and see how that goes.

Give him a bit of time, I stood by him last year and I think his pass pro has been very good throughout his spot time last year as it was in college and last friday. What was encouraging last Friday was that he used his smarts and technique in the run game, hopefully coaches have realised that power and leg drive isn't his forté in the run game and we'll continue to see some technique run blocking from him tomorrow.

Well I know one thing for sure, I think we can all agree the "approaching bust status" quote by Aaron Wilson was premature to say the least. Please Aaron, keep the b.s. isolated to My Man Mike Preston.
