At the moment, yes he is. And Kruger is playing more a down lineman right now, Merriman is not.

Schefter just mentioned that the Ravens and 49ers are two teams Merriman would like to play for. We will see.

Why not sign him for the vet min. We could get him over San Fran considering our situation as opposed to there's. I'm sure his agent would remind him he would only look better playing for us and could probably get a decent contract next year.

Sure. But Baltimore's always mentioned in these situations. I dont have the time to run down the list of players who have been lumbed into the "Baltimore is a possibility" thought process.

49ers would put a waiver claim in if they want him. The Ravens are lower than San Fran on the claim list.

Just me, but I don't want him anyway.

We used to be lumped in with every available WR because we didn't have anyone. I don't agree with you lumping us in with every player, especially because that hasn't held true at all since we got Boldin and Housh.

I'd love to have Lights Out in Purple and Black but uh...who do you release? He's an outside linebacker, do you give up JJ?! Suggs and Merriman would be amazing but giving up one of our best ALL AROUND backers, for a sack specialist....Nah.
