    Prude And Ross

    On the WNST Casey report:

Casey mentioned that Billick named Prude and Ross by name as two UDFAs that are making noise in camp. Of course, Billick did not say that these two have made the team, but you have to think that at this point, Prude and Ross will have to play their way off the team.

Casey also mentioned that Cory Ross is really pushing BJ Sams for the PR/KR job. Could Ross be the KR while Sams remains as PR?

As for Ronnie Prude, Casey mentioned how Prude has an advantage for playing in an NFL style defense with Nick Saban. At this point, it looks like Derrick Martin will go to PS. As for David Pittman, he'll probably make the team, but be an inactive. They could sneak Pittman onto the "IR."

Looks like our CBs will be CMAC, Rolle, Ivy, Prude, and Pittman. Our safeies will be Reed, Sapp, and Landry. I think BJ Ward will somehow get stashed on the IR. Seems like Jermaine Winborne is fighting his way onto the team as a safety.

I have to admit that I was the one saying that Prude had to show me what he could do in a game. Well, he has, but my only criticism is that Prude learns to finish all of his plays.

    Just my two cents.
    It's a new season! It's a new day!

    That's some migraine.

I still think Sams is the better punt returner. Ross and Sams are about equal in KO returns. So I say Sams stays.

I highly doubt they would carry two guys whose sole job is to return kicks. They've carried enough ST specialists over the years and it has hurt them from a depth perspective. I think one of the reasons that they signed guys like Ivy and Stills is that they can play defense if necessary, as opposed to the past with a Harold Morrow (who was a FB in name only). I think it's also a reason why they drafted Koch, hoping to eliminate the need for a KO specialist. IMO, it's going to be one or the other - Sams or Ross - with the possibility that if they do keep Sams, they may be able to get Ross onto the PS.

    Re: Prude And Ross

Some other news from Aaron Wilson via WNST:

David Pittman was taped to the goalpost on today.

Players were really griping about being at the training camp and it probably was taking a toll on them. Not a reflection of how they feel about Carroll County, but the players are ready to return home, "the Palace", etc.

Players that stood out greater than expected to Aaron Wilson:

    - Corey Ivy.

    - Ronnie Prude and Cory Ross.

    - Quinn Synewski.

    - Dan Cody. Love his attitude towards his recovery.

Players that Aaron Wilson believe are not quite meeting expectations:

    - Trevor Pryce still trying to adjust to his role here.

    - Thought Jason Brown would push Flynn a little more.

    - Sam Koch.

Aaron says that Kyle Boller just needs to relax and be himself. Thinks Boller is being too hard on himself.

Says that Billick is much more calm than in the past.

McNair will play more snaps. (I thought I heard him say that McNair would play the entire half, but not sure. Tyring to type as he talks).

Talked about JO condition and how he probably gained that 30lbs. while going through the hospitalization and loss of his father.
    It's a new season! It's a new day!
