    Ravens contact Porter

That's what his agent tells John Clayton and Mark Curnette of the Cincy Enquirer. I still don't believe it will amount to much when you read this morning's Cincy paper in which the Bengals dropped out of the bidding after 1 phone call to his agent and finding out his significant demands.

How do you know his demands will be as much to us? Multiple sources have said he wants to play here, maybe he won't ask for as much from us.
''You'd love to go on the first day but I'm glad for the situation I'm in,'' he said. ''Baltimore knows how to play defense.''

I doubt that we sign Porter now with JJ re-signed. JJ will be starting at OLB, and I think he is the next breakout star on this defense a la Bart Scott.
    It's a new season! It's a new day!

Obviously the FO is not completley comfortable with JJ or else they wouldnt have ontacted Porter at all.

Because AD is too expensive, Porter will come cheaper.

I garuntee that whatever deal Porter gets with any team, that it is atleast 25% less than AD's deal from NE.

Our fanbase is horrible at just letting go. The Pats did it with Lawyer Milloy, Ty Law, Deion Branch, and Willie McGinest. We can do it too.

Aaaagh!! PP, please do not bait the Nurse in this thread, too! :grbac:

As much as I mocked the notion in another thread, Porter -> Ravens does make sense for Porter and, in a way, for the Ravens. And there are much worse villains and cheap shot artists in the NFL then Joey Porter, whose worst sin is being a loudmouth.
    Festivus

His definitions and arguments were so clear in his own mind that he was unable to understand how any reasonable person could honestly differ with him.

Besides...this is just investigation! Any respectable GM is going to take looks at available players, especially veterans that can impact a game.

Doesn't mean we're going to sign Porter tomorrow, doesn't mean we won't.

Parity means players rotate all over the place.

Friends of mine in Cleveland hate Ray Lewis, Jamal Lewis, and Cmac like you would not believe....but they all admit that they'd be favorites if they played for the Browns.

Same thing. The days of seeing a majority of stars and impact players play for one city their entire career is gone.
