Revisiting the Cody pick.
He needs to lose weight. Getting down to 330-340 would make me a lot happier. The workout videos of him were not of a pro athlete. Vince Wilfork weighs close to that, Ngata weighs close to that but neither look as out of shape as Cody. I'd like to think we can fix that.

Just bring him to the castle, tie a sausage in front of his face attached with a stick so he can never get it.
And yell Run Fatty Run.- Section 133 for eternity!

I guess we have to hope one of our PS WR's will show some promise this year to groom under Bolden/Mason...

Re: 2010 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
I think we'll go WR in Round 4 or 5...I think Ozzie and Cam like the later round WRs this year.
Carlton Mitchell, Mike Williams both sleeper picks for us. Also Joe Webb?.

Call me a Special Teams coach again. I dare you! I double dare you, MFer!

Did anyone want Ghee? Because he just went to the Bengals
Bengals quietly having VERY good draft...Gresham, Dunlap, Shipley, Ghee..

Re: 2010 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
Never liked Ghee...1 INT in 3 years starting? Horrible ball skills.
IMHO, It's time to address WR and CB. I think it's a pretty safe bet that we will not be addressing the defensive front 7, TE, RB, and QB. We may...MAY go after a OL to build up some more depth. And maybe a special teamer. But CB and WR are the obvious needs here. I will say that there are still a LOT of good front 7 guys still on the board.
WR's I'd want in order...
Mike Williams
Carlton Mitchell
Riley Cooper
Marcus Easley
Dezmon Briscoe
Seyi Ajirotutu
and that's it IMHO of WR's that I'd have any hope of actual WR production in this league
CB's I'd want in order...
Dominique Franks
Akwasi Owusu-Ansah
Alterraun Verner
Perrish Cox (serious character red flags on this guy, and mediocre workouts...but can play)
Walter McFadden
Syd'Quan Thompson
Hopefully, with 4 picks left, we can make it out of this draft with at least 1 guy out of both groups and then just build some more depth/special teams.

Re: 2010 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
I'm not at all excited about this Friday's drafting...
I was real happy about the trade on Thursday, btu I think we wasted it.
Kindle is fair value, and fills a need, he's just NOT the player I would have chosen. He's a one trick pony(passrusher) that benefited greatly from schemes that left him unblocked.
Cody, i sa big immoveable objecty in the middle of the best Run D in the league. I hoep this doesn't mean the VASTLY superior Ngata doesn't go off to greener pastures. Ngata was better walking into minicamps then Cody has a chance to be.
Dixon... I'm hoping it's my east coast bias, but meh... average middling TE in a deep class.... Fair value, but similar TE's will be flying off the board ALL DAY.
NO CB? How do you skip over BY FAR our biggest need? I hope he has another Fabian Washington up his sleeve... There is a reason that Cox, Franks and IUP's finest are the best corners left...
It's salvageable.
Trade Troy Smith for any pick this year or next to Buffalo.
Pick Rashawn Jackson, Cory Jackson or John Conner with a late-ish pick.
Get this kid from IUP, hopefully he is mroe DRC and WEBB then he is Pittman. ASAP. Must use this 4th pick on a corner.
OR trade for Carlos Rogers.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to pick another blocking TE, Peek, or Hoomanuwanui.
It would be a good idea to draft a returner, perhaps Trindon Hollliday.
It would be a good idea to draft a kicker, perhaps Leigh Tiffen.
Maybe a QB liek John Skelton if Troy is moved.
