Re: OPENING DAY GAME THREAD - Ravens/Bucs
1st from the 20, Jamal up the middle for 2-3.
2nd and 8, Wilcox split out, McNair hurried and throws it behind Heap and low. Incomplete.
3rd, shotgun empty backfield, pass is caught by Clayton RIGHT at the first down line. Will be close. An INCH short.
Apparently Billick is challenging. Shit, I'd just go for it.

Re: OPENING DAY GAME THREAD - Ravens/Bucs
Looks like they originally spotted it about 4-5 inches short. A qb sneak would probably make it....Billick looked like he was trying to hide the challenge.
Ruling on the field stands...
Ravens punt.

Re: OPENING DAY GAME THREAD - Ravens/Bucs
Ruling stands. Thought it would. QB sneak would get an easy first. Oh well, they're punting.
Punt returned to the ~35.

Re: OPENING DAY GAME THREAD - Ravens/Bucs
These announcers are horrible. The color guy is stuttering and just gives you the feel that he has no idea what he is saying at all.

Re: OPENING DAY GAME THREAD - Ravens/Bucs
1st, Caddy wrapped up in the backfield as he tries to go off tackle for no gain. Great play by AD!
2nd and 10, Simms hits Caddy out of the backfield, gain of about 7.
3rd and 3, Ray deflects the pass intended for Becht. Absolutely brilliant coverage by Ray. Suggs was NAILING Becht if Ray wasn't there. No chancer right there. Punt out at the 13.

Re: OPENING DAY GAME THREAD - Ravens/Bucs
Ray might have gotten away with one there.

Re: OPENING DAY GAME THREAD - Ravens/Bucs
It's Gannon's first game as a color announcer - mistakes will be made.

Re: OPENING DAY GAME THREAD - Ravens/Bucs
1st from the 14, and in the most predictable play in history, give to Jamal in the I-form, no gain, maybe a loss.
2nd and 10, McNair pressured, way underthrown for Heap, hit the turf about 2 yards behind him.
3rd, blitz coming, McNair hits Williams for a gain of 9. Unfortunately not enough, but a nice play by Demetrius.
Returned to the 35 or thereabouts.

Re: OPENING DAY GAME THREAD - Ravens/Bucs
1st from the 37, Simms getting tons of time, complete to Caddy who slips a tackle and gets 8.
2nd and 2, give to Caddy for 4. Saw some really blatant holding there.
1st, at midfield, TO Bucs.

Re: OPENING DAY GAME THREAD - Ravens/Bucs
1st, complete to Clayton, gain of around 3. First WR completion in the game for TB.
2nd and 6, pass tipped at the line by the DTs. Actually, Suggs got in there for the tip.
3rd, Simms getting time, pass intended for Clayton is broken up by C-Mac! Great play by Chris. Shutdown corner! Offensive hands to the face penalty is declined.
Ball downed at the 6.

Re: OPENING DAY GAME THREAD - Ravens/Bucs
Nothing for Anderson so far. Pass rush hasn't been very good except on blitz. C-Mac playing well.
