SD could sure use a skilled DC with playoff experience.

His definitions and arguments were so clear in his own mind that he was unable to understand how any reasonable person could honestly differ with him.

Re: Bears fire R Rivera
Dumb move by the cheapskate Bears, who will eventually regret this. The guy has been a head coaching candidate this offseason, but they don't want to keep him around as their DC?
If they also lose Lovie Smith at some point soon because they are too cheap to keep him, this team will go in the tank really quick.

Ed Reed was calling us a "bad organization?"

Re: Bears fire R Rivera
Well, I dunno.
IMO, the Bears D is more a reflection of Lovie Smith than Rivera. Smith is a defensive guy.
And why hasn't Rivera landed one of these jobs the last 2 years?
The Bears D is good. But let's remember who they play. The NFC North is a joke. Hell, the NFC as a whole is.
Yes, the Bears are cheap when it comes to coaches. But if they're gonna be cheap with one, I say be cheap with Rivera and lock Smith up.

Re: Bears fire R Rivera
They didnt want to give him the raise because he will most likely land a Head Coaching job next year. There is said to be up to 8 vacancies after next season so look for Rivera to be hired rather quickly along with our beloved Rex. :grbac:

Re: Bears fire R Rivera
I feel that the organization felt that Rivera's pursuit for a promotion trumped the teams progress during the post-season. He landed in San Deigo, and probably is making close to the same $ there.
