Nick Leaders, placed on Practice Squad Injured or released?

    profootball24x7
The Ravens placed the following player on Practice Squad Injured:

Nick Leaders (DT, 6-1, 290, Rookie, Iowa State)

To make room for Alexander, the Ravens released defensive tackle Nick Leaders out of Iowa State.
So which one is it? Or is being placed on practice squad injured the same as being released?

Maybe "Practice Squad Injured" is a special category of "Injured Reserve" that doesn't count as a year of vesting. Players on regular injured reserve get a year of credit.

Before you can put a player on your practice squad, he has to be released then re-signed later. There may be a 24 hour waiting period as well. This might be causing the confusion.

According to the ravens website they also signed this guy:

The Ravens added linebacker Junior Glymph to their practice squad, completing the final list of eight that will be the Baltimore developmental team to start the season.

Glymph, a 6-6, 272-pounder out of Carson-Newman, spent last season with the Dallas Cowboys, seeing action in three games, and 2004 with the Atlanta Falcons, logging three contests, as well.

6-6, 272 pound lb? That guy must be a rush end type. Anyone have any other info on this guy?

I just read the scouting report on Alexander. I think he fits right in to the Ravens scheme for their DT's. He has a big frame at 6' 3" but only weighs 290. But after seeing what Bannan can do with his motor and of course Kelly Gregg, there may be a potential spot for this guy if someone falls off the d-line rotation due to injury.
