Re: Baltimore Sun takes jab at Ravens fans...again
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Re: Baltimore Sun takes jab at Ravens fans...again
When someone in a group that one is a part of acts in a disgusting and embarrassing way, every member of that group should be embarrassed and disgusted. You're attitude that we as a fan base shouldn't apologize for the actions of our fellow Raven fans is what leads to people believing they have a right to be dicks to visiting fans.

Re: Baltimore Sun takes jab at Ravens fans...again
I have never been to another team's "house" and probably never will go unless the Ravens are in the Super Bowl and I am fortunate enough to get tickets.
I personally think you are asking for trouble if you go to a opponent's stadium wearing your team's colors and cheer for your team. If you like people booing you, throwing drinks or anything else on your clothing, or having your life threatened, then go ahead. And you pay money for this? Not me. Maybe it can be avoided if your on Club Level, depending on the city.
My idea of fun is going to a game, cheering for your team, wearing whatever you want to show Ravens pride, and not having anyone bother me, period. The only place I know where I can do that is M&T Bank stadium, because I am a Ravens fan.

Re: Baltimore Sun takes jab at Ravens fans...again
I'm not gonna paste you. I'm just gonna assume that you don't know. People don't want to be racially harassed. Most people who have ever been would NEVER cry wolf about it. It doesn't make for a "better story." It's an enfuriating and degrading thing to even speak of; and somebody writing in to a newspaper has nothing to gain from it. I've heard it at M&T, Candlestick, CLE, and even at softass Angels Stadium for a baseball game. Please don't believe and say things like this. You don't mean it to be, but it's dangerous and plays into the hands of bigots of all kinds.

Re: Baltimore Sun takes jab at Ravens fans...again
Yea, you keep believing most would NEVER do that.
Meanwhile, that's exactly what happened in my section during the Bengals game.
A guy who was of middle eastern descent and a Bengals fan was acting like an asshole the entire first half. Finally a SAFE guy and cop came up and told him to knock it off. Not 30 seconds after they left he began flipping the bird to everyone behind him again. He was escorted out along with his whining girlfriend.
A few minutes later two SAFE guys (one in red who is a supervisor) walked back up and asked another Bengals fan and his son to come down to the concourse with them. When they returned a few of us asked the father what happened. He informed us that the guy who was kicked out accused everyone in our section of "racial profiling" and that he want to "press charges". The SAFE people asked father and son about this and they both told them that it was ridiculous and that the guy was a complete asshole.
People have every right to be skeptical of stories like this because many of us go to every single game and sit in all parts of the stadium. And from the looks of it, very few have witnessed anything like the woman in the Sun or the guy in my section claimed. I guarantee you if any racial slur was used in my section, the person would be gone immediately, no matter what team colors they were wearing.

Re: Baltimore Sun takes jab at Ravens fans...again
I've heard racial slurs. I used to see a fight a week in 536. I saw some poor Chef's fan get pummelled by 6 guys in the concourse years ago. Baltimore fans really are embarrassing a lot of times. Our city doesn't have enough problems to put us in a bad light that we need to act like neanderthals in the stands? I love fans being loud. It's the fans job to be a pain in the ass to the opposing offense, but not their visiting fans.
I have heard nothing but great things about Nashville fans, and although I have never been to a game there, the stories I hear give me a much more favorable opinion of the city and the team.

Re: Baltimore Sun takes jab at Ravens fans...again
Sounds to me like she's got her panties in a wad. I'm a woman and I've been to lots of opposing stadiums wearing my gear. I've been treated as bad as any man and I've learned to give as well as I get.
I'm going to flat out call her a liar. I've sat in club, I've sat in the end zone, I've sat in the uppers and I've sat on the 50 yard line. I have never been in a section that would've tolerated the use of the n-word. Period. I mean, I know how she feels. I was pretty pissed 2 years ago when I dropped a lot of money to go to Buffalo just to watch our asses get handed to them. But I didn't make crap up and write letters to the Buffalo newspaper. Shame on the Sun for writing things without proof. It's clearly heresay from a pissed off fan of a losing team. If I'm Bisciotti, I look into a slander suit.Sick and tired of transplants. If Pissburgh is so great, carry your black-lung asses back there.
