Re: What happened to Mojo Rizon?
My $.02 on Gumba 1 & 2...
Both are awesome but I think I gotta go with #1. I do think the Roth/Cuba/Court stuff was a bit plodding. Could've had about 15min edited out, IMHO. I tend to focus on the De Niro stuff if I decide to pop in the #2 DVD now. #1, I watch the entire flick.
Favorite sequel has gotta be Empire Strikes Back
Obligatory Ravens material.... Mattison scheme is way too vanilla to be successful against the 2009 version of NFL offfenses. Maybe good against 70/80/90s offenses, but not today. (Dumb thought of the day: I always wondered why the term 'Vanilla' is used to describe uninspired and boring... I really like Vanilla ice cream and Milkshakes... How about the term 'Dry Toast' would be better)

Re: What happened to Mojo Rizon?
I love both Godfather 1 & 2, so I won't choose.
I will speak up to defend Godfather 3. It doesn't hold up to the first two but that doesn't mean it's not a good movie. It had some good quotes and some great characters. Joey Zasa, Don Lucchesi, Don Altobello, and Mosca the assassin.
The obvious defect is the huge nose and small talent of Sofia Coppolla. If Vincent is supposed to want to go against all level of decorum and shag his cousin, shouldn't she be at least attractive?

Re: What happened to Mojo Rizon?
Yes I think III definitely suffered because of FFC's daughter. But I think the conflict between good and evil ceased to exist after Michael had Fredo killed. In Godfather I you felt conflicted because you admired Don Vito as a loyal husband, a protector of his neighborhood and a man who "dabbled in harmless vices." Those who were killed understood it was business.
After Fredo was killed you always viewed Michael through that prism. You saw him as the evil person he became, not the Marine hero and loyal son stepping in to protect his Father. Because the viewer no longer felt that internal conflict, GF III could never have been as good as its predecessors. Just as time and circumstances prevented Michael from becoming the man his father was.
Best quote in GFIII:
Vincent Mancini: Don Lucchesi, you are a man of finance and politics. These things I don't understand.
Don Lucchesi: You understand guns?
Vincent Mancini: Yes.
Don Lucchesi: Finance is a gun. Politics is knowing when to pull the trigger.Last edited by ed from Bel Air; 10-29-2009 at 06:19 AM.

Re: What happened to Mojo Rizon?
I do love the classic GF 3 line: "Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in!"
Can't count how many times I've used that.

Re: What happened to Mojo Rizon?
So Much for Mojo Rizon the concern for him lasted all of 2 post. :)
If we're talking ganster movies the Good Fella's have to be up there, I've never seen a whole God Father movie so the Good Fella's is my favorite.
Casino is a pretty close second. Oh wait I forgot about Scar Face...
