Re: Ray may be giving up Pro-Bowl spot to Scott
Do you realize you are saying Ray, according to you acting completely selfishly, gave up an opportunity to go to the Pro Bowl to please the fans? In other words, giving something to someone he works closely with every day, in order to please a bunch of people who he doesn't know, purely for his own gain?
Festivus
His definitions and arguments were so clear in his own mind that he was unable to understand how any reasonable person could honestly differ with him.

Re: Ray may be giving up Pro-Bowl spot to Scott
I have an idea.
How about everyone pick a Ravens player and question his every move.
Hell, just flat out accuse him of stuff that you don't know to be true.
I mean, that seems to be the theme. Right?
We finished 2-14 and were out of it from day 1.
O wait........................

Re: Ray may be giving up Pro-Bowl spot to Scott
Ray isn't doing it because he's selfish.
But, at the same time, he's not doing it because he's UNSELFISH.
It's win-win.

Re: Ray may be giving up Pro-Bowl spot to Scott
Well said. Why is it everyone needs to look for "ulterior motives" when it comes to anything Ray does?
Yes he bitched and moaned last offseason,he should have just kept his mouth shut and saved it for closed doors so crucify the man why dont ya.
It looks like that little outburst had a lot to do with the frustration of last
season, and is the exception rather than the rule when it come to Ray.

Re: Ray may be giving up Pro-Bowl spot to Scott
It takes a certain kind of specialousness (read: retardation) to suggest that a guy giving up a free trip to Hawaii to hang out with the NFL's best and play in a big game in the public eye is really a selfish move.
To call such a suggestion "ridiculously stupid" might be the understatement of the year...

Re: Ray may be giving up Pro-Bowl spot to Scott
no one is saying that Ray is being selfish here.
What we're saying is that he knows by doing this it will promote his own image.
He's not stupid.
No one likes to play in the Pro Bowl they just like the honor of being named. Honestly, it's win-win for Ray. Help a team mate, and get good PR and not have to play in the game.
I bet he'll still be in Hawaii...wouldn't you?
To clarify what i'm saying: Ray Lewis would have dropped out of the pro bowl even if Bart Scott wasn't next in line. The fact that Scott was up next made the gesture look nicer than it is, though of course it's not a bad thing by any stretch. You'd be surprised how much of the NFL is PR, I get the feeling.Last edited by RavensNTerps; 01-27-2007 at 02:51 PM.

Re: Ray may be giving up Pro-Bowl spot to Scott
I love how so many people are so sure that they "know" and "understand" another human being's motivations.
Just because you watch Ray on Sundays doesn't mean that you know the man and when people pretend to have some special insight into another man's motivations it makes you look foolish.
