Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Chargers
Our pass D is ugly bad.
But pulled the game out. Holy hell. What a play by Ray.
And no one ever speak ill of Frank Walker ever again.

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Chargers
Frank Walker might not be a bad idea at starter...as long as he keeps the penalties down, he was GREAT against the physical receivers.
someone just needs to teach Foxworth and Washington to swat the ball while covering. Don't just let them take the huge play and tackle!

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Chargers
Cue Nelly's "Hot In Here" theme song... Ray Lewis does it again. That has to be the play of the game.
And I definitely agree- our CB's are CRAP. No way should a-hole Rivers have a career game in passing yards. Washington looked lost the entire game, and Foxworth got twisted around all day. While I'm not sure if McAlister is the answer to bring him back, we definitely need a physical corner. Or at least Mattison better be all over his corner's this week in practice.

RAY LEWIS>>>>>>>>>> any other MLB. But uh we need some better pass coverage or a taller CB. I'm not on the ledge ready to jump.. Yet.
If you look at it chargers have 5 Wrs over 6'0 + Gates. and All the Ravens DB are under 6'0 besides D. Landry... No doubt however that we need to improve our pass coverage.

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Chargers
I agree with pyite, while it's nice to bask in the win...Our D was beat bad by the Chiefs 2nd string QB and TORCHED by SD today. SD is a good team, but there were a TON of injuries that should've led to us being able to manage a decent showing. I could live with giving up 300 total yards to Chargers. but 450+??? No, this was BAD defense, with smart Ravens D sprinkled in when we really needed it.

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Chargers
Fabian Washington has looked lost at time since last season. I don't expect much upswing from that side - but fact is, Foxworth is solid, and has good cover skills, but he's just too small to cover a 6'5 receiver.
We need a physical CB, and bad. But the heroes of the past aren't exactly walking through that door. You guys clamoring for C-Mac are probably not going to be very happy.
Mattison has to figure out how to use their speed to the defense's advantage, and figure how to make the matchups work.
