Eagles trying to trade Hank Baskett

ESPN is reporting that the Eagles will try to trade Baskett to clear a roster spot for the newly signed Jeff Garcia.

I would give up a 5th or 6th round pick for Baskett. He's a solid special teams player who can make some plays on offense. IMO he's better than Tyree who the Ravens worked out last week.

yeah, especially since that guy probably wouldn't make the team anyway. i'd be all over a 5th or 6th rounder for him.

At minimal, that's a pretty sizeable redzone target with some experience.
Doesn't have the health issues that Tyree does either.

I got to at least think we're inquireing.

Aaron Wilson is saying they want a defensive player (McClain or Edwards). that doesn't make any sense because they're meant to be trying to trade him to clear a roster spot for Garcia.

Baskett has been released per Adam Schefter.

Vick added to roster off reserve list.

he's gotta clear waivers first, so i have a hard time believing we are the first team that wants him.

Eagles place Shawn Andrews on IR as well.

That coupled with the Baskett release opened up the spots for Garcia and Vick.

baskett cleared waivers, so we would have the opportunity to offer him a lesser contract. let the bidding begin...

If we can get him cheap enough I think it would be a good idea. Keep that fire light under our WRs who can catch and run, but we all know they could catch and run better.

Well, he cleared waivers... Now it looks like he is going to sign with the Colts. I was really hoping we would sign this guy.

He will probably have 900 yards and 13 tds the rest of the season with Manning... Grrr
