First comment of the day and needs isolation:

Adam Podlesh is an absolute beast of a punter and should be drafted in the first round by someone who needs a punter. OK maybe that's a bit over the top but he is actually immense and I so wish he had four more years of eligibility to punt in College Park.

That needed isolation, he's that good in my eyes, bias, yes. ;)

My last look at the North team in Practices this week:

    DB vs WR Redzone Drill

    - Josh Wilson got beaten badly twice. Once by Jason Hill on a fade to the back corner (Wilson didn't push up enough and close the space at the back corner of the endzone) and once by Brandon Myles when Wilson had and then yielded inside position on Myles. Myles threw a very good double move and Wilson got in a bad position, would have been a walk in TD or would have required an excellent play from the safety.

    - Marcus McCauley again showing well in press coverage, but he really does have issues with off coverage, needs a lot of coaching on that aspect of his game by whoever drafts him.

    - Aaron Rouse showed excellent inside coverage on Aundrae Allison. Allison got off the line well but Rouse kept with him well and had air tight coverage into the endzone.

    - Brandon Myles really showed well in this drill, got off the line with ease three times, great moves to get off of the jam and avoid contact.

    - David Clowney made a superb catch in coverage against Josh Gaddis. Gaddis cut of the inside hard and Clowney just faded out and made an excellent diving catch.

    - Josh Wilson made up for earlier poor plays with good coverage on his last play against David Clowney, cut off the inside and then tracked him well to the outside.

    OL vs DL Drill

    - Quinn Pitcock beat Dan Mozes with relative ease twice, simply got lower on the play both times.

    - Josh Beekman did an OK job on Patterson (Ohio State) twice, good strength needs to polish his technique.

    - Marshal Yanda did a great job on the first play against Anthony Spencer, got onto his block and didn't let Spencer use his great outside speed. Second time around Spencer went hard outside and cut back inside on an excellent move, Yanda barely got two hands on him second time round.

    - Adam Carriker fought back well on his second play against James Marten, Marten nulified him first time round, Carriker out worked him 2nd play.

    - Amobi Okoye just had way too much power and speed for Dan Mozes, got lower as well and Mozes didn't stand a chance. Mozes really needs to concentrate on getting lower than the guy he's blocking, really not shown well today.

    - A good matchup between Brandon Mebane and Manuel Ramirez. Mebane got lower first time and so got the better of Ramirez. Second time round Mebane fired out very well and got Ramirez on his heels. Ramirez showed great strength to fight back from a poor position and showed some nastiness finishing the block, throwing Mebane down.

    - Levi Brown just ate Victor Abiamiri on both of their snaps. Brown pushing him to the outside on the first play and just tied him up on the 2nd play.

    - Okoye showed very well against Marshal Yanda as well, speed to the outside on the first play and then an excellent inside spin move (has only been blocked once these first three days) on the 2nd play.

    - Adam Carriker beat Ryan Harris with ease, stepped upfield and then cut back inside as Harris committed to the outside and couldn't power step back down the line to cut Carriker off, clear path to the QB. Good move by Carriker, poor block by Harris.

    - Anthony Spencer but a good bullrush on James Marten on their 2nd snap. First snap Marten tied Spencer up well, 2nd time Spencer really got under Marten's chin and pushed him back well, nice power to go with his excellent outside speed.

No real notes from the LB drills, Rufus Alexander looked very good, Buster Davis and Earl Everrett didn't.

But just absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed Mike Singletary coaching and in some cases grilling the LBs he has to work with, a true joy to see him coaching those drills. Hope some other people saw that.

I saw the Singletary drills, they were great. You really can learn alot from these kinds of things.
"This year, our attitude when we’re on the field is we’re attacking, we want to put points on the board and then let our defense pin their ears back and have at it."

good call ukravenstockers, that was very cool watching singletary work. gotta agree on buster davis as well. is it just me or does he look a little heavy? also, chansi stuckey made an AWESOME one handed catch. i can see why we've been talking to him, he's the spitting image of mark clayton, an undersized burner. been very impressed with bowe from lsu, big guy who has been toasting db's in the drills today. although they have mentioned how he has a tendency to drop some balls.

Last Padded Practice and the Last Practice I'll be able to watch this week :(

    South Practice

    DB vs WR Drills

    - Aaron Ross did a very good job on a stop route on Dwayne Bowe whilst playing in off coverage, allowed the cushion to decrease graduallly and closed well when the stop came and the ball was there. BUT he didn't finish the play and challenge for the football.

    - Chansi Stuckey made a good cut on an in route against David Irons, easy catch as Irons got too high in his backpedal and was out of position on the play.

    - Bowe ran a comeback route against Ross 2nd time up for them and really showed some excellent explosion out of his routes and caught the ball as well. If Bowe can sort his dropsies issue he can be a very good possession receiver in this league.

    - Irons redeemed himself with some excellent coverage on a corner route, but Stuckey just made a ridiculous catch tipping the pass first and then coming down with it as he fell, excellent play by Stuckey.

    Red Zone Plays

    - Ross bit badly on a double move, beaten, got thrown off his coverage and left flat footed.

    - Bowe showed well again, really using his size and power well to gain inside position on a slant pattern.

    OL vs DL Drill

    - Justin Blalock beaten easily to the outside by Ray McDonald who has shown good versatility to play outside and inside in a 4-3 base.

    - Aaron Sears and Antonio Johnson had two very good battles, Johnson with a decent push but Sears locking on and not allowing Johnson to beat him.

    - Dustin Fry showed issues again with bending at the hip, overbalancing and getting beaten easily on a swim move by Tank Tyler. 2nd play Fry battled back well and tied Tyler up.

    - Ben Grubbs had two very good plays against #99 of Miami (DT), locking him up both times.

    - Tony Ugoh got too high in his stance against Tim Crowder on their first snap and Crowder knocked his outside shoulder back fairly easily. 2nd play Crowder beat Ugoh to the outside with an excellent burst off the line, two poor plays by Ugoh.

    - Quentin Moses made an excellent inside cut to beat Wrotto (GT). No power step by Moses to shut off the line to Moses.

    - Ryan Kalil and Tanky Tyler played out to two excellent battles. Tyler got dominated by Kalil on two plays yesterday, Tyler showed better today with a good initial burst to knock Kalil back. However Kalil showed excellent ability, having his hands in the right place and being able to adjust his base mid block to change the momentum of the block and stop himself from getting pushed back on top of the 'QB'.

How about some post game notes? Thoroughly enjoyed your analysis of the practices. I wasn't able to watch the game.

I didn't watch the game either and tbh, the game is utterly pointless, there's no blitzing and no stunts and pretty much all the scouts leave on Friday after the final practice, the game is just for the fans really.
