    The Righteous Winds are Blowing

    Sad day for conservatives:

    1. Unemployment dipped for the first time since "W" fucked the economy.

    2. Evidence that we took out the Al Queada connected Taliban Chief with a drone attack. How long until Obama brings home Osama?

    3. The Stimulus programs is creating jobs and selling cars.

    4. The Obama Bull Market continues to race towards 10k.

Sorry that our country is starting to do better folks. I know it has been a while and we are used to the shitty conditions left to us by "W" but we will get used to being the greatest country in the world again before too long.

Agree 100%. AND, if they were actually concerned about the state of the Union, they would be happy.... right? things are going better... right? But no, they would rather be right and see things worsen, so they could say I told you so. (insert elvis grbac icon here.)

The reason the connies are resorting to brownshirt tactics is that they are drained of anything constructive to contribute. Reganomics succeeded only in enhancing the stupidity of the populus and giving a free ride to "free" market capitalists. Look at what they did to the stimulus money: spent it on bonuses.

I say brownshirt tactics because that is exactly what they are using. In the Weimar Republic days, the NSDAP would use open forums only to disrupt conversation and to propagate misinformation and lies. This is exactly what the connies are up to now.

Is there any true discourse in these town hall meetings where we're supposed to be learning about what's on the table? No! All we hear is the repetition of lies (kill your grandparents, euthenasia squads, forced abortion, death board, no MRIs, etc.)

    Have you seen this site?

Actually the townhall today with Obama in New England was well done. There were some skeptics of healthcare that asked reasonable questions about how it will be paid for and to what degree the government will be involved etc. Those are debateable questions when asked in a sincere manner. As Obama said, "lets debate what is real".

The problem with the conservative approach and this will backfire in time...I am convinced...is that they are so gullible in believing what is not real. Killing the elderly...death panels...govt. taking over the decisions...Obama trying to socialize the country...The White House gathering email addresses on who opposes reform, etc. These are not worth debating because they are idiotic. Some idiot today brought a loaded handgun, strapped to his fucking leg to the Obama townhall. Seriously? He is on Hardball talking about the need for people to exercise their 2nd Admt. rights and the spill some blood for liberty to grow again. This is crazy shit.

Just read the connies on this board to see how much influence corporate america has on their views. its frightening. Its interesting from a psychological perspective though to see how easily people are deceived into believing and adhering to policy that is NOT in their best interest to benefit those truly in charge..corporate america.

I have a problem with the top five insurance companies making 8 billion dollars yet the connies have a problem with the Obama trying to add a not for profit govt. option. Like the military...like education...like road services...like water services some things should not be for profit. Healthcare is as essential as these services and as such, should also be not for profit. But OH NO! that's socialism! Well shit fuckbrains...more than half of your livlihood and daily involvements are under socialist umbrellas and no one is complaining about them. Be consistent...be smart. Stop being tools.

    Obama wins this...you watch.

Just like everyone was allowed to bring firearms to all the Bush "town halls."

Yeah, I like that one the best. Who was it, Bownback? was complaing that a public option was unfair because the health care companies have to make a profit?!?! True, they do, and by law. So maybe we should repeal that law. Or stop allowing the vultures to profit off our misery.

I work for a health care non-profit, with insurace and pharmacutical companies, and know how much they profit from their patents and how many people lose out becasue of the cost of medication and treatment.

Yeah they spend billions on research, but the upper management makes billions on top of that that we pay for (or don't because we can't). They are truly the slimiest of the slimey and their lobbyists are crawling all over Capitol Hill right now.

Why can't Medicare and Medicaid be tweaked to become the "public option" that people could buy into and or be carried by temporarily while unemployed?

I have several healthcare plans to choose from at my employer and each one shows me in black and white what their and my obligations are with each plan. Obviously, I get more with the more expensive plans but I understand that when I choose that plan. If I decide to choose the cheaper plan and I have an injury/illness thats not completely covered or would cost more out of pocket, thats my fault!

Just like car insurance, health insurance cost is based on levels of coverage and how many people are part of the pool. Not everyone has a major illness/injury and because the pools of people tend to be very large, they may actually make a profit. Every one of the major insurance providers make Billions each year and you are required by law to carry insurance if you drive a vehicle. Why do they make Billions? Shouldn't they charge as little as possible so that they break even each year?

Why? Because medicare and medicaid are complete failures. As is the VA health system(notice there isn't talk of socializing all the evil profit building hospitals).
They need to force all of those that would pay inot the system, while no receiving benefits for this to work in any manner. Adding the unemployed to medicare simply makes it an even bigger bill. They are "saying" that by forcing everyone into participation that it can be defecit neutral. So they are straight up admitting the plan is to steal from the working class, to charge them more for insurance then they could ever possibly spend in healthcare. That is the goal.

That is essentially what Obama is intending but the debate or lack thereof has been diverted by fringe arguments. His public option in theory would be a self-supporting, non profit arrangement that would deficit neutral. He believes 2/3 of the price tag could be generated through reform such as not paying private insurance 200 million a year to replicate medicare services. The other 1/3 will come through tax reform that will lower the deductions rates for those making over 250k a year to the same percentages that those under 250k a year are allowed to deduct annually.

Obama does not say "everyone" will be covered and he doesn't say he wants to insure illegal residents.

The end of life counseling is the socially responsible thing to do and is, by concerend physicians, being done on a regular basis. The only thing different as desired by the house bill is that physicians wil be reimbursed for their time. By the way, the original part of the bill was initially proposed by a house republican.

Obama has stated ad nauseum, "if you like your plan, you can choose to keep it" The deal here is that not everyone has such a great choice. My insurance is through my wife's job and she has every choice under the sun. It is free for her and cost her $20 a month for me. Her brother though has none because his job does not provide it and he can't afford it. He is the example of why reform needs to be done not you or I.

Its a good question. I have thought the same thing throughout this debate. i ma not sure how much the auto insurance companies make a year. I believe that MAIF though is a like a public option for those who can't get private insurance. Its costly but the option is there.

End of life care will now also be REQUIRED, EVERY 5 YEARS to be insured.

We will be allowed the choice, as long as none is not considered a choice. Also all other choices will become prohibitively expensive and taxed from existance.

This is a pretty good Op-Ed from John Mackey, Co-Founder and CEO of Whole Foods....
