I, for one am grateful to Pilsner Urquell for inventing "clear" beer. I don't like my beer to taste syrupy... A good porter is ok, but when someone starts talking about bubblegum, and banana in the same breath as beer, I cringe.
I'm well aware that the long history of beer is wheat, wheat, wheat... That's why I'm so grateful to Pilsner.
My favorite brews, in order, are:
    Weihenstephaner (original)
    Kronenbourg (1664)
    Tsingtao
