24 and Jack Bauer -- perfect timing

Thank god that 24 has started this week -- perfect timing for something distracting after being depressed all weekend from the game.

I think that Fox must time the start of the show on purpose every year to catch the football fans that must be part of its core supporters. At this point of the year only 4 teams' fans are excited about the playoffs -- everyone else is looking for something else.

I hadn't ever watched 24 until Sunday night, and walked away unimpressed...then watched again last night...and damn.

What's it about? I've never watched it, I'm generally not that big on Network TV. Is it something you can get into in the middle, or do you need to have watched them all?

For anyone who hasn't seen the show but is interested, trust me, go get the first season on DVD. Watch the show in order from episode 1 to episode 114 (the second one last night). You'll be glad you did. I hopped on board in the middle of season four, which unfortunately spoils a lot of the twists of the first three seasons. It's definitely a show that gets better when you don't know what's coming next.

You missed Monday? Oh man, where to even begin.

I can tell you a couple of huge things happen. One of them totally shocked my wife and I.

Saw a commercial last night that you can buy the 1st 2 nights (4 episodes) on DVD today. I imagine it is pretty cheap. Plus no commercials.

I agree with the original poster. If not for 24 starting up, my depression would be full-fledged. 24 is amazing!
