    Cheney warns of new attacks

One has to wonder why Cheney, if he really believed we are at such risk, wouldn't maybe go to Obama with his evidence and maybe a suggestion or two. Instead he goes to Politico???

Agenda? Don't do what is good for your country there big fella...No instead, create more fear, more doubt, more concern, more darkness. More hope that Obama will fail.

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/200...politico/18390

This coupled with the way the Republicans are handling themselves with the stimulus package makes it pretty clear what we have in store for the next four years. If the last 8 years weren't bad enough, we will experience more fear mongering, more obstructionist ways and deliberate attempts to bring Obama down.

Meanwhile the economy continues to tank and these guys are the "true patriots". What a joke this whole country's political system has become.

What do you mean the war (R) are handling themselves? You mean not voting for a giant bull^%#$ kickback with the label of a stimulus package? If that is obstructionism I'll take it!

So far the only thing Obama has said or done so far that hasn't been completely retarded is the talk of placing salary limits on employees of institutions getting government bail out money.

As far as the 'fear mongering of the Right'... anyone who thinks the power of Obamas care bare stare and rainbows shooting out of his ass has or is going to end terrorists threats needs to lay off the narcotics.

Interesting update on the RNC being challenged on Cheney's comments:

"Here’s why this question is a valid one to pose to the RNC. Cheney’s comments are about something larger than just Cheney’s opinions. They represent what may be an emerging GOP political strategy right now to lay the groundwork in advance to blame Obama, should there be another attack. After all, former Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen recently said that if there were another attack, “Americans will hold Obama responsible.”

The RNC, again, is the GOP’s central political operation, and it will largely set the political tone of the party going forward. And new chairman Steele has pledged that the GOP will become a “new party” that will move in “a new direction.”

So it’s fair to ask whether Steele countenances Cheney’s approach to national security politics, which the GOP pursued for the last seven years, or whether he’ll break with that approach. For now, the RNC is not saying."

Anything to get his gaffes of this faux simulus bill, tax cheats and lack of transparency off the front page, I guess.

of course not but if he was really concerned about our danger, there are ways of being of help other than spreading what at this point amounts to hearsay.

It is what is going on right now with the the voice of the GOP- Rush, most of wingnut radio and now the ex-VP. All in an attempt to cut into Obama's political clout so that the few can remain rich and in power and this country will continue to fall apart as it has in the past 8 years. And while everyone is so sure the the democrats control the media, there are plenty of polls now showing that the republicans are being shown talking about the stimulus plan at a 2-1 ratio of the democrats. So that is bunk.

Eventually Obama is going to stop trying to work in a bipartisan fashion and basicallly tell the connies to fuck off. I am about at the point after Cheney's ploy to support that from Obama. I hope he pushes through a 1 trillion dollar SPENDING package and gives it all to unwed, pregnant, drug-using, minority teens so they can buy tacky escalades and drive around thinking they are better than the rest because of their big cars. At this point it is either that or more failed tax-cut policies for the rich which really have done wonders for the past 8 years.

You jsut said al you needed to right here. Obama abandoned the bipartisan approach before he started, and that is the most ludicrous stimulus you can ever imagine. You truly put your partisanship in front of all else.

I'm a liberal because I care about people...all kinds, especially the underdog. I have no problem taking some of my good fortune and handing it down to those who need it. I feel sorry for people who are so wrapped up in and defined by their possessions that they immediately cry out socialism as soon as some of their precious possessions might be shared. Living like that seems to carry a lot of anxiety with it.

    LOL
I bought a $22k 2009 Jetta TDI - Clean Diesel. It has been averaging 45 mpg driving back and forth to work and over 50mpg when driving long distance. It is cleaner than a gas engine as far as emissions and I will receive a $1300 tax credit this year for clean emissions car.

Trap - you are a historian. Here is a nice slideshow of some of what New Deal money bought:

The App. Trail is a national treaure known worldwide. It provides jobs, recreation and community.

I once met a german couple while backpacking in Turkey that were planning on coming to America to thru-hike the entire app. trail. They had just finished hiking the southern turkish coast which is a crazy challenging trek. Hiking in Turkey is all by GPS and completely reliant on natural springs for water. Very few trail blazes and the only support comes from sheep herders who speak no english. My wife and I slept in a village mosque one night and were woken around 3 a.m. with the village men in the room next to us chanting. Being post-9-11, it was a little scary for sure. Needless to say, they put us up in their mosque and treated us with full respect. I wonder how many americans would return that favor to foriegn muslims hiking through their village? It just occurred to me what a joke that truly is. also sad.

Anyway, these germans will come to the u.s. with 2 another couple and hike the entire appalacian trail dropping money along the way. Their minds will be blown by the luxury of the App Trail with its maintanance and support along the way. That's America as I would like to see her.

He got the word out because he was concerned and couldnt reach the Prez. This happened repeatdily all during Ws administration and by his own side that wanted his policies in Iraq look bad. He had the CIA, NSA and Pentagon flooding the media with stuff to make him look bad so guys like you would buy it.

I posted links where your boy from Carter's administration also warned of possible threats as well as the Rasmussen poll

Cheyney has contacts with CIA types and what nots. Its hardly hearsay.

Russia is putting up missiles pointing to W. Europe. he'll be testing OBY. thats not hearsay.

He already left bi-partisan telling them to get along they have to go along and trying to isolate them from their support and telling them not to listen to Rush whom he is scared to death of.
