Re: Ravens or Steelers Defense?
I would not be surprised with a 50/50 split. The Steelers are notthe #1 defense in the league by accident.
However, as good as Polomalu is (and putting the purple glasses down for a second, that guy is a great player), I think Reed is a better ballhawk.
That is why I would objectively take the Ravens Defense.

Re: Ravens or Steelers Defense?
In another post, I spoke of how both defenses are viewed by the talking heads. Ravens are spoken in terms of Great, Feared, etc..., while the Pit D is poken of in terms of #1 defense in the statistical categories. I would rather be "feared" instead of ranked #1 any day of the week!!!:respect

Re: Ravens or Steelers Defense?
It would not even be close if we had Gregg, Landry and C Mac in the mix.
The Steelers are a closer that I am comfortable with though without them.

Re: Ravens or Steelers Defense?
Our cornerbacks are poorer tacklers, and not as good defenders as are the Steeler cornerbacks.

Re: Ravens or Steelers Defense?
Our defense is alot more confusing to other teams compared to Sh*ittsburgh.

Re: Ravens or Steelers Defense?
I think our corners cover better when healthy, but they do tackle better.
The Steelers have a less complicated scheme, but it is complex enough on 3rd and long to confuse protection schemes or just flat out beat them.
Right now it is too close to call as to what D is better. If we had all of our starters, we would be clearly better, but at home, with less injury, they may have the edge on that side of the ball.
I think our D will play better this week though because of a better O line than they have. They may be a little better at stuffing the run, and getting the Qb on the ground, but we are a lot better at blocking over the course of the year.
