there is always the excepton to the rule. we have two short guys in mason and clayton. if we could stretch it and out jump the defense, flacco would throw for 300+ every game.

You don't need to be 6'5 if you can get open and muscle away defenders.

Re: Hakeem Nicks - I want you on the Ravens next season!
That was a funny play, but let's be honest there is no WAY in the NFL he gets away with that behind-the-back stuff.
I would be inclined to side with Galen on this one. Nicks looks like a good zone receiver, but that isn't what we need at the moment. Mason and Clayton are possession receivers. We need someone that can be a deep threat. I didn't see anything in the videos that really shows that other than a couple throws.
This guys can catch though. That is for sure. He gets a lot of YAC.

That catch in the Bowl game was awesome. But I wouldn't expect him to go anywhere on Day 1. He appears to have strength & good hands. I didn't see blazing speed, and the height isn't there. Depending on his blocking & route running skills, he could go on Day 2, possibly taken as a return man, too.
Thanks for the pointer, I love these kinds of threads.
edit: If we're going to get a 6'1" UNC receiver, Brandon Tate is the one. He had a torn MCL end his college career early, but on YouTube he looks like the one with the NFL-type speed, and he has the hands and a nose for the endzone, too.Last edited by festivus; 12-28-2008 at 10:53 AM.

His definitions and arguments were so clear in his own mind that he was unable to understand how any reasonable person could honestly differ with him.

Well, a guy who almost everyone seems to want around here is 6' 1"/217.
His name.
Anquan Boldin. I've found that a huge % of people think he's bigger than he really is.
Screw measurements. If a guy can play he can play.
It's the job of the scouts to find them, no matter what size they are.

This guy is amazing. He was throwing defenders away and making great plays. Height doesn't matter when you have the tools.

I really like this guy, but we will have to see where he projects in the draft. There are a lot of great looking Wr prospects this year just out of the ACC.
