Heroes and Goats... (Sabado Gigante Edition)
*DISCLAIMER: As I shall be traveling to the Land of Pleasant Living within the next 48 Hours, this may be the final Heroes and Goats of the season for me. Nevertheless, the opinions of this thread are mine and mine alone and were not aided by performance enhancing drugs such as anabolic steroids, Viagra, 5-hour Energy Drink, or Ouzo. Read and discuss amongst yourselves, and for the love of God, man up and be loud against the Jags this Sunday!!! Without further ado, Let's ROCK.
HEROES:
1) DERRICK MASON- Brother, you are officially the greatest WR in Baltimore Ravens history, in my book. You kept lifting yourself up off the canvas to help your team and rookie QB win the most important game of our season to date, and showed the true heart of a CHAMPION.:respect Oh, and that McClain fumble recovery was the most critical play of the game, showing that not only do you make first downs and Touchdowns-- You also do the little things to make the Ravens successful...Dammit, it's time I went out and purchased a D-Mase Jersey for the holidays!
2) WILLIS MCGAHEE/LERON MCCLAIN- Needless to say, your back-to-back 75+ yard sprints to daylight not only set an NFL (and probably Olympic) record, it also broke the backs of the Cowgirls and ruined their pompous postgame celebrations. Seeing the tears in the eyes of the fans and Jerry Jones' daughters made staying home on a Saturday night more than worth it! I didn't know that Willis could run that fast , plus that L-Train stiff-arm was so nasty that the Dallas CB decided to hide behind Mark Clayton instead of making a real attempt at a tackle further down the field!!
3) ED REED- The more things change, the more they stay the same, which is good for Ravens fans and what may realistically be the greatest playmaker at safety to ever play the game... Your hands and nose for the ball are so great that I honestly wouldn't be upset if Cam split you out wide and developed a "Reed Package".:ww: :respect
4) RAY RAY/T-SIZZLE/JAMEEL MCCLAIN- A big reason that, as predicted, Tony Romo was pressured into costly mistakes, was the constant whoopin' you cats kept putting on his ass! Everytime I turned around it seemed like Romo the Homo was running for his freakin life, and even when he got rid of the ball, you made sure he had to peel himself off the turf...
5) MATT STOVER/SAM KOCH/JIM LEONHARD- HUGE kicks, BIG punts, GREAT punt/kick returns and one AWESOME fake FG play helped keep us afloat until our run game could put the game away. I don't care what anyone says either-- Sam Koch should be the AFC's punter in Hawaii this season...
Honorable Mentions:
Ravens O-Line- Great job, men! I was hoping you could hold up to the abuse of facing back-to-back top defenses and you didn't disappoint me!
Mark Clayton- You may never develop into the superstar I want you to be, but you definitely have improved lately, making key third-down grabs to extend drives and such. Give my regards to Dan Cody at the next Sooners alumni meeting you attend.
Lorenzo Neal- Watching you chugging 80 yards downfield alongside L-Train was the highlight of my night! Seeing you absolutely DESTROY oncoming would-be tacklers is another favorite thing I like to do!
OPTIMISTIC RAVENS FANS- Props to the fans who felt we could lay the smackdown on the Cowgirls and said so on this very message board!! You kick ass in more ways than you know and your "glass half full" attitude should be commended!!
GOATS:
1) Evan Oglesby- Kid you looked lost out there and it showed in your performance. If you had been burned any worse, your teammates would've died from smoke inhalation on the sidelines!!:grbac:
2) Yamon Figurs- The only word I can think of to adequately describe your timid style of kick and punt returning would be "effeminate" ... Look that up, Einstein.:grbac:
3) Fabian Washington- You're killing me here, Fabe...:grbac: Please pick up a copy of "Tackling and Press Coverage for Dummies" the next time you're at Barnes and Noble. And for the love of Pete, don't showboat by running all the way to the endzone after making a routine stop on 3rd Down...:grbac:
4) Jerry Jones- Hey douchebag, after disrespectfully setting up the Ravens to be patsies for your Cowgirl post-game shenanegans, doesn't it feel GREAT to watch a capacity crowd shed tears of pain instead of joy, dickhead?!!
5) Pessimistic Ravens Fans- Man up and cut out all that negative naysaying and second guessing and drink the purple Kool-Aid, people...And you know who you are too!

Love the visual aids!!!
I'd say this is pretty accurate. How about a nod for Cam and Harbs for the gutsy call on the fake field goal!

Good stuff Houston.
I really think Koch could be up at the top of the list.
Dude was UNREAL and the fake FG run topped off a great night for him.

At least Peter King had props for Koch this week, as well as Harbs

I think Reed should be a serious contender for DPOY now. Not only is he a joint leader in INTs, but he's got 220 yards in INT returns, a forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, and three TDs, oh and a sack. While Polamalu may have 32 more tackles, it seemes to me that Reed has more game changing potential as the girly haired one has no fumble recoveries, FFs, sacks or TDs and only 59 return yards.

Good stuff as always Houston ....
They say if you're good at something, never do it for free! ;)
And mark me in the pessimistic fan category. I am still consuming copious amounts of crow since Saturday.
"effeminate"

It's getting to the point where commentators are no longer surprised when Ed makes a big play. Now that's the ultimate compliment, when you make the spectacular look routine.:D

I hear celery helps it go down a little smoother though.:celery
