    Doubt it.

But I'm up for him to be our next Asst DB coach, definitely.

    Eric Weddle announces retirement :

    https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...es-retirement/

"Weddle spent 13 years in the NFL and entered the league as a 2007 second-round pick of the Chargers. He spent nine years in San Diego, three years in Baltimore and wrapped up his career with one year in Los Angeles for the Rams.

Weddle was named a first-team All-Pro twice and a second-team All-Pro three teams over the course of his career.

He had 1,179 tackles, 29 interceptions, 9.5 sacks, eight forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries and five defensive touchdowns in 201 regular season games and added an interception and two sacks in nine postseason appearances."

With the recent run on safeties in Canton recently, I don't see Weddle making it. But, in my mind, he's right on the cusp.

Despite his marked decline in physical tools (comes with age, unfortunately), I'm thankful for what Eric did while he was here, including the intangibles he brought to the team. I wish him well. And here's hoping he continues letting that beautiful beard grow wild and free! =P

I’ve never considered Weddle even a fringe HOF. He was good not great.

Can see him joining Ravens in near future in a coaching role or in some capacity.

Weddle makes it to the Hall of Very Good, not the HOF at least not for a decade or two.

double m, do you think that in two decades people will think he's good enough for the HOF? IMO he isn't now and won't be then... Bc

Didn't Harbaugh say he could come and coach any time. I think (and hope) he'd pick the Ravens if he did want to get into coaching.

Baseball has a lot of players in the HOF that should be in the HOVG

If Reed and Polamalu are the standards for the era then Weddle is way short.

No way Weddle is a HOF guy.

I don't even know if I'd put him in the Hall of Very Good...just Hall of Good.

    Good career.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.
