Re: Anyone know a Raven's fan that wears...

The OP was not about cussing, which is bad enough. It was about unacceptable behavior from one person to another. And I couldn't care less whether a person has a "good well respected job."

Steve ask for the supervisor and talk to them at the game about what is going on. We have had the same "blue coat" for the last 10 years, he started out as a yellow jacket and we have developed a great relationship with him and the lady before him was my sons CCD teacher. It makes a HUGE difference in the game day experience.

Believe it or not, it is possible to be a fan, be loud, stand up on third down AND still not feel it necessary to call a 20 year old girl a f*@%ing whore as she leaves the game with her boyfriend.

If you somehow feel that is noble and/or tough or somehow being a fan, your world must be pretty small.

This thread is one of the more revealing threads I have read.

You quote "Dont be a jerk" I will quote "I will protect this house"

Furthermore, I dont see too many people complaining, like people in this thread, acting as a Ravens fan should. Stand, be loud, and make it a "hostile environment". Thats what our stadium should be.

I don't understand the people that show up, get hammered, and then act like asses the entire game - but I can definitely understand a scattered foul mouth here and there. I caught myself yesterday screaming some awful obscenities at times just out of pure anger. It's not that I'm a person that speaks like that normally - but if you're emotionally into a game, sometimes you lose control momentarily at times.

With that said, abusive behavior towards women is ridiculous. I'll just never understand wanting to spend $100 on a ticket just to get drunk, make an ass of yourself, and not focus on the game itself.

Many people who traveled to Shittsburgh wore Neutral colors because it was a hostile environment. Imagine if that girl wore black/ neutral gear and was quite...any problems....i think not

Re: Anyone know a Raven's fan that wears...

I'll happily walk into Pissburgh, Philly or DC wearing my Raven's jersey.

The thing I've noticed is that if you act friendly towards the people around you they tend to act the same way. I get to my seat about 10 minutes before kick-off, take the time to say "howdy" to everybody around me and that's usually enough to ensure a friendly game.

Nicki, myself and two of our friends went to a Titans/Ravens game a few years before we got married. I was having a blast with everybody in our section. Well the game went on and about the third quarter this guy a few rows down decided he was gonna start cussing me out. I didn't have to say a word because the Titan fans around us started fussing at him, saying what a good guy I was and he should shut-up. I was cheering loudly for the Ravens the whole time but never got annoying with it so everybody stuck up for me.

I'll tell you this right now. If I'm at a Raven's home game and see another Raven's fan cussing a woman or a child I will damn sure say something to them. If I see another Raven's fan hit, throw beer on or spit on a woman or a child I'll just have to spend the night in jail because we're gonna fight. I don't know about some of the people in this thread but my Daddy taught me there are just some things you don't let slide.

I got a great idea too. It involves you, a short pier and a long walk. She is not the enemy. She is my wife.

I have worn my Ravens jersey to Three Rivers stadium before. I got boo's and jeers, but was never assaulted. You support your team. It should not matter if you are at home or on the road. I do not care if visiting fans wear Jerseys. I love doing a little jaw-jacking with the visiting fans. All in good fun. I have NEVER had a physical altercation with a visiting fan. Always had a good time smack talking, but it always ends with a hand shake.

Re: Anyone know a Raven's fan that wears...

I agree some fans take it way to far. I understand the insults and stuff, however it is the spitting on, beer dumping and hitting I do not get. We went to the Deadskins game a couple years ago at Fedx. We had very low seats right behind the Ravens bench. I had on my Ravens gear and a Skins Suck Shirt under it. We were winning pretty good and a woman about 5 rows behind us was calling us names. I turned around and flashed her the Skins Suck shirt. She then tossed a full Plastic CUP of beer at me. The funny thing was that it was a OPEN CUP and the beer hit her fellow fans and not me. The cup did not even hit me and a cop was looking up and saw it.

She was escorted out of her stadium and I was cheered by the skins fans around her. They said she is a drunk that is a pain every game.

I agree make friends fast and show respect and you should be taken care of! I even had beers bought for me in other stadiums.

I always yell f-bombs at raven games. I've been doing it since day 1 back in 1996. I never taunt any opposing fan around me unless they taunt me first. I only yell f-bombs at the players and the refs only. Regardless of who sits around me I'm gonna say the f-bombs. It's football..... not Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
