    Re: Eagles - Duuhhhh what's a tie?

I really don't have a problem with the current system. I like the fact that OT can end with a Kick/Punt return, safety, interception, etc. Bottom line is, if neither team can score after 15 more minutes of football, they deserve to tie each other!

    Oh ^%@$# no!

    The college system is terrible.

The only thing they need to change is add a rule where both teams have a possession. Aside from that there is nothing that needs to be changed in the OT system.
Keeping the purple flowing way out on the West Coast!

There have been 6 ties in the last 20 years in the NFL.

Who effing cares? The NFL likely will not care nearly enough to change the rules. And the college system is highly unlikely in the NFL, mostly cause it'd be a terrible system.

I hate tie games, and I think that both teams should be forced to continue to play until someone scores.

As for OT rules, there's no way in hell I'd want to see college OT rules. That system absolutely sucks! The NFL rules are fine the way they are. Just because you lose a coin toss is no reason to think that you somehow unfairly lost the game. Defense and special teams are just as much a part of the game as offense, and if you can't stop a team from scoring on one possession, then I'm sorry but you didn't deserve to win anyway.

I agree with Stockers and Khaine, equal possessions is the way forward for a rule change.

We had a tie against the Iggles way back when,
But I don't think McNugget was the QB then.

    Who was the QB?

The Ravens and the Eagles played to a 10-10 tie on November 16, 1997. Bobby Hoying was the QB for the Eagles. Testaverde was the Ravens QB.

I do believe we had a tie game in pre-season with the Eagles about 5 or 6 years ago too.
