Hampton AND Parker out?
My buddy in Pittsburgh just texted me and said that not only is Hampton out but Parker is as well.
He said nobody up there even knew Parker was injured and that it happened at the end of the game.
Edit: Here it is.

Re: Hampton AND Parker out?
I wonder if that moron Cook at the Post-Gazette still thinks the Steelers are gonna drop a 35 spot on us.
I know very little about Mendehall (sp?)
I'll assume he can run the ball as a tailback, but if he can't catch out of the backfield and pick up blitzes well, they might have a very large problem here. Will Die A Ravens Fan!!

Re: Hampton AND Parker out?
Damn, I like our chances for this game more and more.
Add Ben's bum shoulder and the pressure that will be in his face all night. Who smells an upset?

Re: Hampton AND Parker out?
Good news for sure. Don't want to ge too excited but imagine starting this season 3-0 against the three divsion foes.
We have to be concerned about our d-backs though. They are nicked up pretty well and without them our whole defensive strategy/capability changes.

Re: Hampton AND Parker out?
Honestly i'm not so sure parker being out is good for us but it probably is.
I think willie parker is a very quick fraud as an nfl running back, he gets decent numbers when the team is good, and not a thing to speak of if they aren't.
he's a less talented edgerin james, benefiting from those around him.

Mendenhall is a good runner, but this won't be his week....

Re: Hampton AND Parker out?
This is HUGE for us. Mendenhall has looked very solid and Tomlin has alot of trust in him already, but he had the drops throughout the preseason and can't be counted on to be the force FWP is when healthy.
What's bigger is Casey Hampton being out, along with DE Keisel. With their D-line situation already shaky this should make it very easy for us to run the ball and control the clock (and most importantly keep our D off the field). They will now have to bring pressure with their LB's and DB's which should open up the field for Joe "The Chef" Flacco. Not to be drinking the Kool-Aid, but this games looks awfully good to me at the moment. I'd like nothing better than to stick one to those obnoxious Shitsburgh fans....

Re: Hampton AND Parker out?
Thia adds to the happiness and hopefulness of the forthcoming game.
With SlowWillyParker out we can live in the nickle or dime to make sure out Dbacks cover everyone. Mendenhall will not be able to run against us (is Gregg back yet?)... and Ben will - as almost always - hold the ball too long and he may or may not make it through the game...
Although even after we win - the only thing we will hear is how injured and disappointing the Squeelers are... but I'm use tyo that by now. I'll take the W even if no one shows us any love...Last edited by Khaine; 09-23-2008 at 02:59 PM.
Keeping the purple flowing way out on the West Coast!
