Your smarmy attitude aside, maybe you can explain since I seem to be so obtuse.

The decision to try and play the game on Monday was the best option given what was known at the time of the storm ramp up. The storm was predicted to be a Cat 2 and it was. Reliant and Minute Maid are more then ready to survive a Cat 2 storm. The county told the league that and the league made up their mind based on it.

Two horrible decisions were made. The county made a horrible call by giving the green light to the league. The league made a horrible decision to now punish the team by taking away a legit bye week.

I am in 100% agreement that the decision to take away our bye week was a horrible one. Goddell screwed the pooch on that one and it smacks of being very narrow minded and lacks creativity in solving the problem.

To say the league "should have known" is a non-starter and simple monday morning QBing.

Sorry , the league should have known and fixed the problem. I posted this in Drews blog Friday morning after looking at the schedule for 5 minutes the day before.

One other point if you don't mind. I was looking at the schedule yesterday and saw Oakland was a common opponent and saw this possible scenario could happen. The Ravens play Oakland at home, the Texans play the Raiders on the road. Move the Texans game to Baltimore and the Texans and Ravens flip the Raiders game. I'm sure Al Davis would want some concessions in the form of money from the league and doubt it would fly. Another problem would be although the Ravens would start with three straight home games it would make them road warriors for a four game stretch this season, so you could make a case that this might be unfair for the Ravens.

Surely the suits at the NFL offices could have come up with some solutions instead of pretending a fore casted Cat 3 hurricane spinning out in the Gulf with its headlights on the Houston area would have no more effect on Reliant Stadium and Houston infrastructure than a summer breeze.

houston i see what your saying here and trying to explain but dont you think the NFL should of said look lets not take a chance and ruin anybodies schedule and move this to another location its one game some how or some way we can make it up to the texans????

i understand the county down there said this or that but the NFL needed to take on its own mind and control the situation themselves.

    bmorebirds,

Finally, an unemotinal debate about the topic!

That argument was made down here as well. There are some Texans fans that are just as every bit upset as people on the boards.

Sounds to me there are two problems here. However, we all seem to agree that the remedy of taking our bye week away was jacked up beyond all belief.

Just posted this in the Flacco's first road game thread, but wanted to say it here also

I would guess the only good thing about this mess is that we get an extra week to prepare for a hated division rival that we need to beat.

HoustonRaven said it "lets just beat the piss out of the Clowns!"
