Looks like Sunday is completely out of the question, and Monday may not be a possibility either.

Where in there does it say Monday isnt a possibility? Did I miss something?

This has been the story all day. The team is going to have a presser later this afternoon. The sports station I listen to here is going to carry it live.

Reliant is a retractable roof but that doesnt mean anything.

Hurricane Rita was a Cat 3 and parts of the roof fell to the field.

yeah was just thinking that if it is just a glancing blow, a roof would keep the stadium from flooding maybe...if there is that much rain. I just looked at the weather and it says Ike is running just to the left of Houston which is the worst case scenario. If they evacuate the city, this game might be played sometime in December like after the 9-11 cancellations??? No?

Quite possible. If it gets stronger (like a Cat 4), this place will be shut down for weeks.

There is a Noon presser (CST) so we shall learn more then.

One rumor ciruclating is that the game could be moved to Dallas on Sunday as the Cowboys don't play till Monday night.

This is not an option, they cannot play the game the week after the regular season, because the playoffs begin that week. They will decide today whether they should move it to Monday night in Houston, or if they will play it elsewhere. Either way they will do everything possible to complete this game at the latest Monday night.
