Flacco gets the start against Houston
http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/f...0,886490.story
Ravens rookie quarterback Joe Flacco earned a victory in Sunday's 17-10 season-opening win as well as another chance to prove himself.
"Flacco will be the starter this week," coach John Harbaugh said at today's news conference.
I don't think this is a shock for people....he deserves to start again.M&T Bank Stadium - Section 513

He deserves to start next week and the rest of the season even well Troy is good to go IMO.
He's laid a good foundation in his first start, let him build off of it the rest of the year.Master of 'Gifs for dummies'

Re: Flacco gets the start against Houston
No brainer. With his start against Houston, Flacco would then have just as many starts as Smith. Unless he plays his way out of the job, it's now his.

He should be starting until he does something to prove he doesn't deserve to.

Re: Flacco gets the start against Houston
I agree, it can't have taken Harbaugh long to figure this out. "Let's see, who should it be, our prized first round rookie QB who played well in his first start, or our fifth round backup with two career starts who has been very sick for the past few weeks?"

Re: Flacco gets the start against Houston
This is Flacco's job even if he hits a 2 or 3 game rut IMO.
You don't start a rookie QB week 1 and pull him after a bad outing or 2. It's to be expected. We just have to hope this kid is gonna continue to get better.

This line is doing the job.The running game is doing the job.Cam cameron is doing the job. Flacco has a pretty secure blanket around him. He can grow and be successful with that support group.
He has shown such rapid growth over a short space of time. That to cut that off from him now would be criminal.
We are all with you Joe.The stage is yours.
Put the smile back on your face. This is a 60 minute ball game.

Re: Flacco gets the start against Houston
Let's not get ahead of ourselves with the O-line people. They performed well against the Cincinnati Bungles...Nothing more, nothing less.
This is the same team that allowed the slow-of-foot Flacco to run 38-yards virtually untouched to the endzone.
I'm cautiously optimistic that Flacco can stay upright against the Texans, who are a pedestrian team overall, but have a few guys on the D-line who can ball.

Re: Flacco gets the start against Houston
I'm glad he is in now... was worried before yesterday. But it looks like he has a good head - which is what he / we need.
These first few games will be good time for him and the o-line to get on the same page and Gel.
Hopefully by the time we get to the Burg everyone will be clicking.
Right now I'm thinking we will surprise a lot of people this year.Keeping the purple flowing way out on the West Coast!

Re: Flacco gets the start against Houston
My :2c: on one aspect of Flacco's performance, and why he deserves to be the starter until he plays his way out.
He moved inside the pocket extremely well. Partly the pass protection held up, but also Flacco did a terrific job of shuffling his feet, moving up or to the side, to buy a second or two more to pass the ball. He made it look easy, something Boller always struggled with. The O-line did well, and Flacco made them look better than they were.Festivus
His definitions and arguments were so clear in his own mind that he was unable to understand how any reasonable person could honestly differ with him.
