You're the only person I hear calling for a FA / trade QB.

That's just crazy talk if you think we're going to add a forth QB/

Here is your 53. We will keep 7 WRs (and it is possible that DW goes on PUP/IR), because we are using more WRs with this offense than before. I don't see Justin Green making the club, because we have enough ST playmakers. If we sign another OL (Fred Miller?), I could see Cousins going on the practice squad.
    It's a new season! It's a new day!

He still should have some gas in the tank, and looked pretty good on that 30 yarder last night.
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Tommy Polley was a Baltimore kid wasn't he? Admittedly he went to F$U, but local HS player I seem to remember.

    Ditto.

I called for him in another thread. Glad we agree on something! ;)

He was on The Junkies the other morning and was really hopeful he would make the team.

that is just where I have it right now. Still a lot of battles to go.

Ross is a stout little dude. His ability as a KR and 3rd down back should be enough to keep him over Patrick, who as a 7th round pick should be easier to stash on the practice squad than a guy like Ross who has been around for a few years now and made a decent highlight reel. There are some other backs not likley to make the teams they are on now who could take the 3rd or 4th RB and TE spots.
I liked undrafted MD players Haynos, Lattimore, Ball and Goode. They are all in camps around the NFL so I will try to see how they do but Keyon is the 4th or 5th Rb in Dallas. Ball is in STL, reportely looked solid, and I also heard Goode had impressed in Foreskin camp. Not sure about Haynos in GB, but he is a very good blocker and has good size.

There may be more WRs on the 53 than I have right now, but no way do we keep 7, and none of them looked like someone we could not find on the free agent market after the 53 cuts.

They certainly could go with more WRs than Ts, but it looks like there are only a few spots really up for grabs.

Say Kyle throws 4 more passes into tripple coverage and has an unforced fumble or two along the way? Troy Smith is a very nice 5th round 2nd year prospect, but there will be a lot of free agent options before the season starts other than him or Kyle who could be the vet bridge to Flacco.

I am not trying to get him out of towm. I am rooting hard that he turns into the next Steve Young, but am only willing to give him the rest of the preseason to convince me it is still possible to even win with him.

I thought Kyle looked very good on 70% of his attepts. The pick was not very good at all though. There was no pressure whatsover, and no way to get that guy the ball. The fumble could have happened to anyone. AD made a nice swipe at the ball and it would have come out even if it was protected better.

Baring injury, we have our QB's for the year. They will move them around on the pecking order, but they will not go after another QB after what they shelled out to sign Flacco this year and Kyle last year.

I hope you did, because 73% of his passes were completed for almost 10 YPC...

He fumbled the ball on a play you excuse him for, and he made one boneheaded pass in his first preseason action... hold your horses he's here to play the year out.

No compliants about Troy's throw into triple coverage? Oh yeah it was only ALMOST picked off, so it doesn't count, besides the fact hat Crable would have waltzed in for 6.... I guess that's why they play defense.

    1. Kyle has a lot of turnovers. Troy has a lot of near turnovers.
    2. Kyle is a 5th year pro. Troy 2nd year.
    3. Kyle has started 40+ games and played in over 50. Troy started 2 played in 4.
    4. Kyle was a 1st round pick. Troy 5th round.
    5. Kyle has no touch. Troy does.

The rookie mistakes are not as hard to stomach from a rookie QB. Kyle should look better most of the time, but if he is going to make more mistakes than TDs, he can not start. Brett Favre is going to throw a bunch of picks, but he is also going to throw some TD passes.

The fans will learn to love Kyle and his occasional boneheaded throw if he can win some games and throw a bunch of TDs.
I think Troy will eventually be our David Garrard, and Kyle may play well enough under Cameron and Harbaugh to create a Derrick Anderson/ Brady Quinn type situation. Hopefully even eventually a Brett Favre/ Rodgers type of deal

You know this is the funny thing with people defending Boller,he is just holding off a kid in his 2nd year.Has had way more game experience, and Troy wasn't even valued as a pro passing prospect coming out of college.

That is the frustration of it all,Kyle should have this locked down by now.And we have argued endlessly about it.Even Kyles biggest critics must have been hoping that maybe the time with McNair and now Cam had rubbed off on Kyle on that opening drive. And that maybe, just maybe the lights had come on.

And then Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde Boller turned up again. And we sunk our heads in our hands.

We all want that franchise QB,we are starved of that franchise QB for too long now, until that glorious day that said person puts on a purple and black uniform. We are going to rip eachs others heads off over the QB position.
Put the smile back on your face. This is a 60 minute ball game.
