OT / Gumbles Replacement
Can you tell Im bored at work?
The NFLN has a hole they need to fill in their broadcast booth. With Gumble going away two years too late, they will be busy trying to get the next few months.
FWIW, My vote is Mike Patrick.
I never understood why ESPN got rid of this guy on NFL games. His voice is sharp, he doesnt over-sell plays and, unlike Gumble, will actually match the jersey numbers with the players.

Re: OT / Gumbles Replacement
Thiesman is terrible and is an analist not a play by play guy or color commentator.
I like Marv Albert. The Old Sunday night crew was good Mike Patrick or someone.
I would rather have no play by play and just have the stadium announcer and crowd noise.

Re: OT / Gumbles Replacement
Marv Albert is a superb play by play guy and it'd be a shame to see him leave a regular Sunday slot for a gig that isn't a full season's worth of work. I think they'll be looking at an older guy for this sort of job, it doesn't start until the second half of the season and it's only eight or so games, so I don't think it's viewed as a particularly prime gig.

I really don't get all the Thiesmann hate. What specific reasons does everyone have for bashing him all the time?
He is nowhere near as bad as Tony Kornheiser.

Re: OT / Gumbles Replacement
A Mike Patrick / Theismann reunion would be pretty sweet!
I agree with HW. Ole #7 is a much better analyst.
