    OT / Ed Hartwell

Just read this in the airport ...

According to the USA Today, Ed Hartwell just inked a one year deal with the Oakland Raiders.

Hopefully, he can rebound from his injuries and make one last run at it.

He has no knees. Can't see him shrugging off the injuries unfortunately.

Another guy who completely vanished after leaving the Ravens. Wasn't he supposed to be better than Ray Lewis and was mad that Ray took all his stats?

Yeah, but he got real quiet after he left. I think he had a big piece of humble pie. I met the dude a few times and he is a nice guy.

He got unlucky was his problem. His first couple of games in Atlanta were quite good and then he blew out one of his knees and hasn't been the same since. Failed to catch on with the Bengals in camp last year if memory serves.

Ed Hartwell has ties to Annapolis and spends a lot of time with the local kids from the projects. Seems like a standup guy to me. When I talk to some of these kids, they speak highly of him.

Meh. I've met him and he's a good guy, but he threw his teammates under the bus so I've got very little sympathy for him on the field.

Yeah, he pretty much sank his own boat when he left on the terms he did. You don't diss the man who helped get you noticed on defense when you leave because more times than not you end up looking foolish in the end when your play declines afterward.

Sadly, he believed the hype of himself .... much like Boulware and AD have.

I wouldn't throw Boulware into that category, but how about Gary Baxter? Not that he's a bad guy, but his career got flushed down a big drain after he left the Ravens.
