Re: anyone watching the nflnetwork??
The NFL should look at the downfall of boxing in the last 20 years (which PPV was attributable) before they think seriously about PPV.

Re: anyone watching the nflnetwork??
Gotta disagree with you there ...
Boxing failed for a lot of reason other than PPV. A lack of talent in the heavyweight division is probably the biggest.
iTunes is proving that is you make the shows affordable, people will buy on a PPV basis. Same with MMA and UFC -- if you make it a decent product and affordable (although, UFC is just as expensive as Boxing PPV's), people are willing to pay for it.
Boxing is a victim of its own corruption, too. Plus, its just a tired product. People have just lost an interest in the sweet science, IMO.
Jerry Jones, when talking about PPV for games, always seems to throw the figure of $10 around. People will most definitely pay of thats the price. He also did something very shrewed by moving his training facilty back to Oxnard, CA. Just like in baseball, this will generate a fan base outside the host city.

Re: anyone watching the nflnetwork??
What constitutes ppv? Paying $50 to watch a fight or paying for basic cable or satelite to watch games? I gave up on Comcast a long time ago and I don't pay any extra for NFL network or MASN( what a joke) on Direct TV.

Re: anyone watching the nflnetwork??
Actually, for those of us not currently living in the Baltimore region, $10 per game would be a steal... I usually spend between $20-$30 when you factor in gas, food and beer at the local sports bar!
As you well know, NFL Ticket currently costs more than $10 (albeit nearly every Sunday NFL game) weekly for the service.
Would I pay $160 for a full 16-game "NFL Ravens Ticket"?
Does a crackhead love spare change?!!!

Not at all if you get to see them LIVE. The Ray Dance alone is worth at least half the price of your ticket!
I took my younger brother to the last game against the Steelers this year and those memories (namely, horrified Squeeler fans exiting our stadium) were worth far more than $160!:ww:

Re: anyone watching the nflnetwork??
I pay extra for the NFL ticket but NFL network is included on most satelite providers. Maybe I'm missing the point.

Re: anyone watching the nflnetwork??
If cable offered a PPV of all NFL games, I'd certainly do that rather than venture to a sports bar.
Like others said, we'd probably make out better with pay-per-view than $$ beer, food, and gas
