Re: TLT vs Moore...who's the #5 WR?

I would like to see the rookie make the team, but he won't. Has Billick ever had two rookie WRs?

No Moore Clarence! Do we have clearance Clarence?

I think it's a very likely possibility that we may carry 4 WRs and 4 RBs this year instead of 5WRs and 3RBs. Moore would be the odd one out, and could either be put on Injured Reserve depending on how he plays within the next few games and how the after effects of the hernia operation hold up.

Moore really isn't a special teams player, and from what I have heard and read, the RAVENS do like P.J. Daniels. Afterall, they did draft the guy in the 4th round, and thinking he will last on the practice squad is a pipe dream. If the RAVENS can use P.J. Daniels on Special teams, he becomes more valuable to them then Clarence Moore, IMO who in effect will be inactive every week because he's the 5th WR, and he doesn't play Special Teams. How often do we have all 5 WRs active on game day anyways?

As far as Travis LaTendersse goes? I only see him as a practice squad player this year at best. He won't be making this team this year.

2002: Ron Johnson, Javin Hunter and Randy Hymes

2004: Devard Darling (for first couple of games before going on IR) and Clarence Moore

TLT had two catches against the Giants...and we only had 3 or 4 receivers catching against the Eagles.

I think from an objective standpoint, TLT makes the squad IF AND ONLY IF

    1. More is PUP/IR
and 2. There's no vet option to sign to replace him.

That said, I don't think he'll make the team, but we'll attempt the P Sq (which means he'll be a Brown by Week 4). Pat Johnson will be our #5 WR, at least until Moore can come off the PUP. (PJ is not signed by the team, but I'd almost be willing to wager BB decides to sign him because he got a new haircut which will make him fly down the field faster).

I haven't seen enough of TLT to think that he should make the final 53, but I certainly have seen enough of Moore to know that he shouldn't.

    I like WR's that can outrun DE's too. I bet Hymes ran like a 4.8 40. I've never seen a slower wideout.

TLT = Brandon Stokley or Phil McConkey

    Give him a shot.

Speaking of Randy Hymes? I doubt he makes the Jaguars roster. I saw he didn't even play the last preseason game the Jags had. He is down on the depth chart behind Fred Stamps who was on our practice squad last year.

Re: TLT vs Moore...who's the #5 WR?

I would like to see TLT get the chance to play with the starters on Friday night or next week...

Just like I would like to see Clarence Moore in a route over the middel, catch the ball and hold on to it for a key first down...

    before final cuts.

Time will tell... I believe that both have that dangerous word "Potential". TLT with guts, quickness and what seems to be fly-paper for hands - and Moore standing 6'8" something that you can not teach or obtain. I am trying to give Moore the benefit of the doubt, supposedly he played somewhat hurt last year with the hernia. If true, you could see how taken a hit may be on his mind. If he is still hurting from the surgery, put him on PUP. However, if he is healed send his tall ass over the middle - if his arms (and testicles) shrink again - bye, bye Clarence and hello TLT!

I'd like to see Moore play with McNair. Boller and Wright both throw some serious hospital passes.
I am glad Derek Mason is still walking after last year.

I don't see the fascination with TLT. He made a couple good catches in a SCRIMMAGE! Not saying Moore is any better, but Moore has performed at the NFL level in real live games. Having said that I don't think either of them deserves to be on the roster as of right now, but if I had to guess, I'd say it will be Moore.
''You'd love to go on the first day but I'm glad for the situation I'm in,'' he said. ''Baltimore knows how to play defense.''

I also don't really see the fascination with Travis LaTenderess. I think comparing him to Brandon Stokely is kind of a stretch.

I think Travis could be a good practice squad player for us this year and then see what happens next preseason. He hasn't exactly lit the world on fire, and if he isn't a good special teams player, he definitely won't be on the team.
