I never saw it. What would you say is the key indicator of a good economy?

    Consumer confidence, which equals spending.

I've done the same thing over the past three years. Debt free is the way to be. I've got a credit card with less than $300.00 on it, and a mortgage. That's it.

Took me 7 years. Two kids and 1 income took it a bit longer

Me either. This is the most money I've made under a POTUS before.

Economies run in cycles. I started a 401(K) in 1989. It's seen ups and downs under GHWB, Clinton, Dubya, Obama and Trump. Ironically, I saw the most growth (before last year) under Dubya from 2005 - 2007 just before the economy crashed. Like Wicked said earlier, the POTUS has very little direct impact on the economy.

The economy is indeed cyclical. The POTUS can influence the ebs and flows if he/she can stimulate growth. This POTUS is.

The cuts in wasteful spending. The illegal immigration drops. The stock market spikes. All are a direct result of this "outsider."

To call me ignorant and say I live in a bubble and arrogantly assume that I am "x"...is insulting...........bro.

We all want things to go well.

Here's to hoping it keeps up!

I would think the POTUS has an effect on consumer confidence. I know I wasn’t confident in the economy under BHO, not even a little bit. I mean hell look at the GDP. I’m not a huge Trump fan, but I’m certainly more confident in him than BHO.

True. Just like consumer confidence spiked when Obama first got elected. The same when Dubya got elected. The general public was just fatigued after 8 years under the same administration. Its more psychological than anything else, IMO.

My apologies. Didn't mean to come across so condescendingly.

You might not have been, but a good majority of Americans were. That's one of the reasons why the economy flourishes. Perception can be more powerful than reality.
