    The Holidays and family members

Hey guys with Thanksgiving and Christmas here do you have any relatives that get on your nerves? We have a family member every year that comes and he always brings up politics and tries to start arguments. It makes everyone mad and everyone is thinking of not inviting him this Christmas. It's my Cousin by the way. Anyone else have a family member like this? We don't want to be mean but at the same time this is Christmas and no place for this type of discussion. He has started fierce arguments and we don't want any controversery. Thoughts?

Is there a family member he respects and would would listen to? Maybe they could explain to him that they would like a drama free holiday.

You should just flat out tell him “no politics”.

    Set that boundary.

Sadly, I wish I had that issue of having to deal with family as I don't have any left outside my sisters who are in Florida. I am a firm believer in always speak your mind, but there are always exceptions. I know when im talking to someone who wont be able to handle a political discussion or a religious one, so I leave it alone.

I think you should tell him that it was being discussed of not inviting him because of this reason. Maybe it will click in his head that's its better to leave that out of the discussion and enjoy family time while you can.

I had to do that with my mom. She goes on about Trump everytime I see her and I don't like him nor do I want to discuss him so I just told her if you mention it I'm outtie.
