I wanted to keep Jernigan because I was certain he was a player who would go balls out in his contract year.

Well, I'm not gonna blame the system necessarily...although it's a shitty system.

But you don't completely change an entire position based on one player.

A DL that actually fit...like Tuitt who I really liked and went a few picks earlier, or fucking draft an offensive weapon in one of the richest offensive skill position drafts in the last decade.

Guys in the second round we passed on to pick a player we knew didn't fit the system...Davante Adams, Carlos Hyde, Allen Robinson, Jarvis Landry.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Yeah it's not like he was going anywhere with the Ravens. They got what they could via trade.

Good pick by the draft department, except the coaches didn't know what do to with him. (a repeating occurrence)

I still want to know why does he only have 1.5 sacks? PFF had him rated as the best 3-4 defensive end last year against the run. I'm not surprised that his ability to defend against the run is still good but he had 3 sacks in the first three games of last year as a Raven. I just thought with all the talk about The Eagles defense being more aggressive it would mean Jerningan would have 7 sacks by now.

Lol I️ mean it’s kind of simple, why are we drafting players that don’t fit? Or maybe they are just not good at using guys to their strengths anymore? I️ don’t know choose one and we can run with it all day. To me the FO and the coaching staff are different faces on the same coin. Meaning they are two different parts of the same problem.
