Re: The Offensive Line
I like going at it with Cawtious. We get each other riled up. It's fun.

Re: The Offensive Line
Decent surprise? Yes. Kept moving forward? Yes. As a starter? No.

Re: The Offensive Line
Seems to me we have a solid foundation for a Good to Very Good OL:
LT: Stanley
LG: Hurst/Alex Lewis
C: Jensen
RG: Yanda/Skura
RT: Howard/Alex Lewis/Hurst
I don't list Siragusa, because his injury was really severe.
I don't list Loomy, because he's
IMHO -- and my faith in FilmStudy's acumen -- we need to add just one or two solid players to have a top 10 OL.
Imagine we keep Hurst and Jensen. Yanda is good for a year or two. Lewis can play G or RT. Skura is growing.
Bring in a 2nd or 3rd round LT and we could have something.
ALL CREDIT TO JOE D -- he's worked magic with our rag bag OL.Not much really matters, and the rest doesn't matter at all.

Re: The Offensive Line
houston, I don't want to seem negative, but I think you've over-estimated our OL.
LT: Stanley = yes
LG: Hurst (FA)/Alex Lewis (injured more than played in two years)
C: Jensen = yes, but UFA
RG: Yanda (33)/Skura (?)
RT: Howard (average)
IMO tihs is not a solid foundation... Bc

Re: The Offensive Line
Glass is half empty or half full. You've seen my scoring, which appeals to some, but not others. So let me try to make the argument qualitatively instead:
--The Ravens OL has had an absurd set of injuries and a retirement this season
--Nonetheless, they are getting very solid play from the interior OL in particular (Hurst, Jensen, and now Skura)
--The play on the interior has been horrendous at previous times when injuries/retirements hit, most notably 2013 with Gradkowski and Shipley as starters.
--The Ravens have new coaches (D'alessandris and Roman)
I argue that the play of Hurst, Jensen, and Skura is so far above expectation that some credit must go to the coaching and that is a significant foundational element to having a consistently good OL.
