Now it's 50 dead and 200 injured. What a nightmare. Just 1 asshole with the right gun and the carnage is unbelievable

The largest mass killing in US history.

GOTA this was a sick individual. I have no words but sympathy for those that were lost and injured.

Watching these people on TV is heartbreaking.

It's sickening. I am not Mr. gun control but I just don't understand how semi-automatic or in this case, probably full automatic weapons are available. What purpose can they possibly serve other than shooting people?

Agreed. I have always been in support of banning assault weapons while maintaining the right to purchase a pistol or shot gun.

From the sounds of the video he had automatic weapons. Which have been banned for YEARS.

Yeah, I am far from an expert, but that sounded like some heavy duty equipment

With that consistency and rate of fire there's only 2 possibilities.
He either had a belt feed automatic fire (something to like the likes of an M249).
Or had semi-auto rifles with 100 round drums attached and more than one ready.

I think he had an automatic rifle based of the rate of fire.

Not being a smart ass, but I do know some folks that legitimately use them for hunting.

You know more about guns that I do so I will take your word for it. I don't see the point of using anything like that for hunting. That's like the guys who throw dynamite in a lake and call it fishing.

I could see why you'd feel that way. I don't own anything like that, but I am also in Maryland...so it is extremely difficult to get something like that.

I equate it (loosely) to cars. I can buy a super car in the US and it will go 200mph...but where can I drive it that fast in the US without risk of getting arrested or in a life-altering (or taking) accident? I dont need a super car, but if I had the means to own one, I'd certainly consider it.
