Yep, according to profootballtalk.com
Monday night's game between the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens resulted in the largest audience ever for cable television, ESPN has announced.
The game was seen by an average of 17.5 million viewers, leap-frogging High School Musical 2 and its 17.2 million viewers from August.

Re: We set a new viewing record
Yes, I heard about this on some radio station today.
Although I obviously hated the way the game ended, I can also say it was a really great game to watch. I heard Michael Wilbon yesterday say it was the best regular season game he's seen in at least two years.
The outcome sickened me, but I can also see that it had to be an extremely entertaining game for fans who didn't have a particular interest in who won.
