    Great write-up. Thanks Tony.

We go all the way down to Key West every few years; last visit was almost exactly a year ago. I was bummed when Southwest ended service there, but hoping that it resumes soon. I'd rather fly or take a cruise ship than the ordeal of driving the Overseas Highway past Key Largo. We may take the Key West Express from Marco Island or another high speed ferry next time. Does anyone have experience with it?
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

    T,

I've done the high-speed catamaran from Ft. Myers. I think the trip is under 3 hours. There's a bar on board and they play a movie. Going down was easy. Plenty of room and not a massive crowd. It drops you off in Old Town by Dante's. On the way back, it was slammed but it was a Sunday. I'd recommend a return between Tuesday-Thurs.

Don't miss Hemingway's place. And the guides are very well-informed (I studied Hemingway in grad school -- they are good).
Not much really matters, and the rest doesn't matter at all.

That is suggested in the subject guide. I lose interest in tours like that quickly but this one held my child-like attention span.
