Re: U.S. launches airstrikes in Syria
Looking at the video footage released by both the Russians and us and one thing immediately jumps out at me.
The lack of damage. The plane bunkers are burned but intact and still standing, no plane debris that I can see and the runway is basically pristine.
That's what happens when you give advanced notice of an attack. Such a meaningless bombing.

Re: U.S. launches airstrikes in Syria
Kind of interesting when you have guys like Graham, Rubio, and McClain all taking the same position as CNN...
Also, I just thought of this, but remember when Trump was going on and on about how dumb Obama and his military strategists were for talking about military strategy and operations before they took place? And then he goes and does the same thing?Last edited by wickedsolo; 04-07-2017 at 01:29 PM.

Re: U.S. launches airstrikes in Syria
Can't wait for the conspiracy theorists connect the dots spin on this one.
Trump in cahoots with Russia/Putin. Putin helped him win the election.
Investigation in progress to that.
Russia/Putin are allies with Syria.
Syria uses chemical bombs.
Trump retaliates and sends missiles to destroy the bases that the chemical attacks came from.
Russia/Putin retaliate by cutting a hotline intended to prevent midair incidents during combat missions, setting up the possibility of a military confrontation between Russia/US
Sets the stage to put Putin and Trump against one another, making it look like they weren't in cahoots, or at least puts the immediate talk on this and away from Russia helping Trump win....

Re: U.S. launches airstrikes in Syria
I believe this whole attach was a calculated strike, more of a show of force and a punishment for using chemical warfare than it was to damage Assad's military might. Killing Russian forces is in nobodies best interest right now and I'm sure the US knew Assad would know ahead of time that the strike was coming, thus the low casualty number. It was mainly to show the world that there is a new administration in town that has a very different foreign policy than we had the last 8 years.
