Apparently during a home invasion.

Some reports are saying he was shot twice and one shot hit the femoral artery in his leg.

I just heard this and ran around telling all the skins fans I know. This is really sad, I hope is he able to recover. One of the best safety's in the league, he makes a huge difference for their team. My prayers go out to him, his family and the Redskins team.

The report I heard on ESPN was that he was shot in the groin --

I don't usually speculate on this sort of thing, but it sure sounds like someone wanted to hurt him in an extremely painful manner. When I hear "shot in the groin" I think, "angry boyfriend" or "pissed off sister" or something like that. No matter who did it, it sounds bad.

Just from where he was shot makes me think the same thing highwater. This was personal, I do not beleive for one minute that someone was trying to rob his house. If they wanted to rob him they would do it during a game when they knew he would not be home not at 1:30 am. I say ex-girlfriend or someones husband.

In a coma after getting shot in the nuts? Wow -- as bad as it sounded initially, it sounds even worse now. There may be more to this than we know right now.

Either way, I hope he comes back from this. Terrible news.

Probably in a coma due to lost blood. He got hit in the biggest arterie in the body.

The Taylor family spokesperson said Taylor has been unresponsive since the shooting.

There was alot of blood loss because the femoral artery was indeed severed. They are very worried about brain damage.

He also said it was an attempted robbery and that his house was broken into 2 weeks ago and that every room was ransacked excep

Apparently he and his girlfriend heard someone in the house and he got up, locked the bedroom door, and got a machete. According to the spokesperson the intruder broke through the bedroom door and shot twice. One bullet struck Taylor and the other one missed. His 18 month old daughter was also in the bedroom.

From hearing this, it seems that this wasn't exactly a random break in. Why would the intruder break down the bedroom door and open fire?

Very sad situation.

Also, he is NOT in a coma.
