    OT Rap Heads

Mods feel free to move this to the OT forum. But I know we have a lot of rap heads who may not see it there and it being off season and all.

To all my fellow rap heads post your favorite tracks. I know most rap now a days sucks...but try to post some recent stuff that is decent to listen too. Recently I've been listening to Run The Jewels (Killer Mike and El-P).

New Lupe and Big Sean were good albums.

Nothign beats the classics, but I gotta give respect when it's due.

I was an El Producto fan back from Fantastic Damage, but when he hooked up with Killer Mike they just took both their games to another level. Other than RTJ, I'm a big Vince Staples fan. And I really liked the Schoolboy Q album from last year.

Here's the Vince Staples short video that went with the Prima Donna ep from last year.

Give me some EPMD, Tribe, etc over today's stuff any day of the week.

Hell, I'd even take some old school go-go over what's being put out today.

Is Chance the Rapper too mainstream? Interesting stuff and not sure if you consider it rap but Flo Rida one of my favs

Old school nobody better than Tupac IMO and Dre and Eminem

He was fairly under the radar until last year despite being around for like 10 years (granted a lot of that was mixtapes). I guess that's how he was able to win that Best New Artist Grammy.

If we wanna go back to the 90's, besides Tribe's Low End Theory, my favorite album was Kool Keith's first Dr. Octagon record Dr. Octagonecologyst. That record is just crazy.

    Edited to add Earth People

Chance the Rapper has become pretty huge. He's in that grouping with Tyler the Creator, The Weeknd, etc. It's a new-age kind of rap.

That was a good record. My all time fave would have to be "It Was Written" by Nas.

Not recent, but here's one from an all time (IMO) underrated MC. This track has a smoothed out NYC vibe to it, and DJ Premier never disappoints.
