Re: 2017 Off-season Around the League Thread
Don't we know it.... but if they guarantee enough money .... not saying pay ... that market will decide how much, they will have to at least match that and have a big carrot to get him there.
Brees went to NO with overpaying, just have a gut feeling it will not so much be overpaying but either bonus or guaranteed amount that could decide if entering the brown hole is worth it.at one point of my life I was exactly Pi years old

Bears are shopping Jay Cutler.
Maybe the Redskins try and trade a low round pick for Cutler.

Re: 2017 Off-season Around the League Thread
It sounds like Cutler isn't going to make it easy to get traded. The issue is that once he's traded there is no guaranteed money so a team could cut him in a year and he gets nothing. Unless they are willing to give him an extension, he's going to block the trade and force the Bears to release him. With his attitude that won't be hard to do. The Jaguars just went through the same thing with Brandon Albert. He was willing to go but the Jags are giving him at least 1 more year on his deal so he'll agree.

Re: 2017 Off-season Around the League Thread
The Redskins have yet to address local radio personality Chris Cooley's recent suggestion that GM Scot McCloughan has been drinking again.
The annual dysfunction that plagued Washington for decades before McCloughan's hiring has resurfaced, most publicly when Cooley -- who works for the Redskins and Dan Snyder's radio station -- suggested McCloughan has resumed drinking after alcoholism led to his ousters in San Francisco and Seattle. Per the Washington Post's Jerry Brewer, McCloughan's power in the organization was always less than perceived, and team president Bruce Allen has far more say. "Even during good times," Brewer wrote, "Allen hasn’t liked that McCloughan is cast as a savior changing the culture of the organization and erasing the many mistakes of the past." McCloughan was not allowed to hire his own scouting staff and has been prohibited from speaking to the media. And at some point in the near future, it wouldn't be surprising if McCloughan were pushed out the door.
